Boehner Maps Planned Parenthood De-Funding Strategy
In a new interview, Speaker John Boehner talked about the upcoming strategy behind the next steps in the battle to de-fund Planned Parenthood and he urged pro-life advocates to be patient. The House of Representatives approved an amendment Congressman Mike Pence offered to the continuing resolution bill to keep the federal government running. The amendment ensures the Planned Parenthood abortion business and its affiliates are not eligible for any federal taxpayer dollars across any federal programs or departments.

Although the House voted by a strong margin to de-fund Planned Parenthood, the next steps are more tenuous. The battle to yank federal funding is complicated by the fact that Senate Leader Harry Reid and his pro-abortion Democratic colleagues control the Senate agenda and pro-abortion President Barack Obama occupies the White House. It is also complicated by the fact that Congress must approve two continuing resolution bills — one that funds the federal government in the short-term before a deadline results in a government shutdown and another that funds the federal government for another year.

David Brody, the Chief Political Correspondent for CBN News, talked with Boehner about the prospects, and asked: "Can you commit to them that (defunding Planned Parenthood) will stay in the CR no matter what?"

"The continuing resolution passed 10 days ago did in fact defund Planned Parenthood and that bill has gone over to the United States Senate," Boehner responded. "They, like the House, were out last week. What they'll do with that bill, I have no idea."

Boehner said that pressing for de-funding Planned Parenthood in the short-term continuing resolution doesn't make sense.

"In the short term CR though, our focus is on cutting spending and making sure that we keep the government open. In order to get this through the House and through the Senate and signed by the president by March 4th, we're not going to take any big chances on the fact that they're looking for an excuse to shut down the government," he said. "Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer they've been rooting for a government shutdown. We do not want to give them an excuse to do that." Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Life Group Launches Ad, Tour to De-Fund Planned Parenthood
The Susan B. Anthony List, a national pro-life women's political group, today announced a television commercial and grassroots tour across the country to build up support for the movement to yank taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood. The SBA List effort is meant to build on the House vote for the Pence amendment as the battle over de-funding the Planned Parenthood abortion business moves to the Senate as it considers a continuing resolution to fund the federal government.

The organization told LifeNews.com today about its 14-stop grassroots tour and $200,000 ad campaign buy, calling it the "Women Speaking Out" campaign, that will include a series of television and radio ad buys thanking members of Congress who stood up for women, young girls and taxpayers with their vote for Rep. Mike Pence's to deny all taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood through September.

The campaign will continue the following week with a grassroots tour through the districts of those pro-life members and will target representatives who voted against the amendment. Full story at LifeNews.com

Newt Gingrich Expected to Launch Potential Presidential Bid
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is expected to launch an exploratory committee in the next two weeks that would help him gauge whether or not he want to mount a full-fledged bid for the GOP nomination for president.

Republican officials told the Associated Press on Sunday that Gingrich, the former House Speaker, would make a decision about the exploratory committee after spending months traveling to key primary election states like Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

If Gingrich does launch the committee, which allows him to raise and spend funds without becoming an official presidential candidate, he would be the first of the top-tier group of potential Republican presidential candidates to make the move. Herman Cain, a pro-life businessman, has already established a committee — but Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee have not.

Also, a large group of lesser-known potential candidates ranging from Tim Pawlenty and Haley Barbour to John Huntsman, Mitch Daniels and Rick Santorum, have yet to open up an exploratory committee. Full story at LifeNews.com

Planned Parenthood Spending 200K on Ads for Taxpayer-Funding
The Planned Parenthood abortion business is rolling out a new television commercial designed to persuade members of the Senate to support the continuation of its taxpayer funding.
The $200,000 ad buy includes commercial spots that will run on cable television, plus network TV and radio in the District of Columbia. The ads are a response to the House vote for the Pence amendment to ensure the Planned Parenthood abortion business and its affiliates are not eligible for any federal taxpayer dollars across any federal programs or departments.

The Senate is also considering a continuing resolution and could vote on an amendment that would also cut off funding, though pro-life advocates are expected to have a much harder time in the Senate than they did in the House in getting the amendment approved, thanks to pro-abortion Senate Democrats having a majority control over the chamber.

The new Planned Parenthood commercial features Carolyn Smithers, a woman who says she was diagnosed early at a Planned Parenthood facility with cervical cancer. The goal is to emphasize the non-abortion services Planned Parenthood offers — even though the abortion business has been exposed by its falsely touting mammograms as a potential service for women, despite not actually offering mammograms at any of its centers. Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Life Flash Mob in Chicago Surprises "Walk for Choice"
A pro-abortion "Walk for Choice" rally was held in downtown Chicago's Daley Plaza on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Participants of the "Walk for Choice" were protesting HR Bill 3 which limits taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood. As a response to the "Walk for Choice," anonymous teens and young adults organized a "Pro-Life Flash Mob" over the span of a few days. The goal of the event was not to counter-protest, but to give a positive message of joy and life to Chicago.

The youth assembled inconspicuously around the plaza before the rally hiding their giant yellow balloons in black trash bags. When the "Walk for Choice" had assembled, the youth prompted by music coming from a backpack sound system then proceeded to unveil the helium balloons imprinted with the word "LIFE." Full story at LifeNews.com

Liberal Hollywood Elite Trash Natalie Portman Over Motherhood
To hear the members of the liberal Hollywood elite tell it, actress Natalie        Portman committed the ultimate sin last night at the Oscars when she took the stage to accept the Academy Award as best actress.

Portman was honored for her dramatic role in "Black Swan," and she began her acceptance speech with the usual gratitude for the people whose relationship to the movie, however large or small, paved her way to the stage to receive one of the most coveted awards of the evening. After thanking fellow nominees, her parents, and the directors past and present who guided her career, Portman saved her concluding praise for "my beautiful love," dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

Then, as if to underscore how the bright and promising career and the accolades she's received up to that very moment paled in comparison, a visibly pregnant Portman thanked Millepied for giving her "the most important role of my life."

The comment about becoming a mother likely drew approving smiles from most of the millions of Americans and worldwide viewers tuning into the televised Oscars ceremony, but it was revolting for Slate writer Mary Elizabeth Williams. Full story at LifeNews.com

HuffPo, Mother Jones Claim Pro-Life Group OKs Killing Abortionists
Two liberal publications, the Huffington Post and Mother Jones, have seized on a recent dustup in an attempt to make one mainstream pro-life group appear as if it is copacetic with shooting abortion practitioners. A national controversy recently ensued over legislation in South Dakota that pro-abortion detractors wrongly said would give people a legal defense against shooting abortion practitioners. The bill never did that and the intent of the legislation was actually to help pregnant women fend off violent attackers who prey on them and their unborn children.

Americans United for Life is the sponsor of the model language South Dakota legislators relied on for their controversial bill — but the lawmakers made changes to the bill that went beyond the scope and intent of the model language AUL put together.

Still, that didn't stop the pro-abortion publications from attacking the pro-life group.

With the scathing headline, "Revealed: The Group Behind the Bills that Could Legalize Killing Abortion Providers," Mother Jones cited several people who criticized the "AUL-inspired legislation," saying it "could be used to incite violence against abortion providers" and claiming "the series of AUL-backed bills allowing for justifiable homicide in defense of a fetus have all helped put the culture wars back on the nation's front pages." Full story at LifeNews.com

Huckabee Glad Justin Bieber Pro-Life, Hits Abortion Truce
Former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said over the weekend he's glad pop icon Justin Bieber expressed pro-life views on abortion in a recent interview. Huckabee painted the revelations that Bieber is pro-life as another way in which the next generation of Americans is defying the pro-abortion expectations liberals have for young people — by saying, as Bieber did, that they oppose abortion and regard it as "the killing of a baby." Full story at LifeNews.com

Family Appealing Hospital's Decision on Baby Joseph's Life
The family of a 13-month-old baby boy says they are appealing the decision by a Canadian hospital to not allow him to have a tracheotomy so they can bring him home as they did eight years ago with their baby daughter Zina. Baby Jospeh Maraachli is the subject of controversy as his parents are fighting a hospital that wants to remove his breathing tube. They want the boy to be able to die peacefully at home with his family, but the hospital will not perform the tracheotomy. Instead, they asked Ontario's Consent and Capacity board for permission to remove the breathing tube and a judge recently agreed with the doctors' position. Full story at LifeNews.com

Cain Wins Tea Party Straw Poll, Pawlenty 2nd; Paul Wins Online
Herman Cain won the straw poll this weekend at a Tea Party summit conference featuring thousands of conservative activists gathering to hear some of the potential presidential candidates. The Tea Party held a live straw poll during today's final event and Cain, a pro-life conservative radio talk show host and former Godfather's Pizza chief executive, won the American Policy Summit's live poll out of 1,600 votes cast. He finished with 22 percent of the vote compared with 16 percent for pro-life former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty. Full story at LifeNews.com

British Doctors Slammed for Unscientific Abortion Guidelines
In the Commonwealth of Virginia, under legislation passed yesterday, any physician's office performing five or more first trimester abortions a month will now be classified as a hospital, subject to special regulations established by the state Board of Health within the next 280 days. Upset by the new legislation – which passed by a bipartisan vote – Senate Majority Leader Richard Saslaw (D-Fairfax) said, "You know and I know there isn't but one issue involved here. It's abortion. … It isn't women's health."

'Women Speaking Out' Campaign to Rally Supporters, Target Opponents of Defunding Planned Parenthood

Ad Buy, Grassroots Tour Target Planned Parenthood Funding

'Women Speaking Out' Campaign to Rally Supporters, Target Opponents of Defunding Planned Parenthood

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today, the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced the launch of a 14-stop grassroots tour and $200,000 ad campaign in support of its efforts to defund Planned Parenthood in the Continuing Resolution (CR). Starting tomorrow, the "Women Speaking Out" campaign will launch a series of television and radio ad buys thanking Members of Congress who stood up for women, young girls and taxpayers with their vote for Rep. Mike Pence's (R-IN) amendment to deny all taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood through September. The campaign will continue the following week with a grassroots tour through the districts of those pro-life Members and will target Representatives who voted against the amendment.

"There is one word that grassroots America articulated over and over when it comes to use of its tax dollars for objectionable purposes, and that word is a resounding 'no,'" said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. "As we look at funding for Planned Parenthood, that word is being repeated across the country. Americans reject the idea that they would be forced into an alliance with sex traffickers and those who put the needs of women and young girls last. This campaign is a reminder of what this last election was all about."

The campaign will kick-off tomorrow with a four-day $75,000 television and online ad buy throughout NY-25 and the Syracuse-area thanking Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle for standing up for women, young girls and taxpayers with her vote to defund Planned Parenthood. The 30-second spot will air 182 times over four days and can be viewed here. The script reads:

With America drowning in debt, why is Washington spending millions on Planned Parenthood?

This corporation has shown a willingness to aid sex traffickers, covered-up statutory rape of young girls, and is America's number one abortion provider.

Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle courageously said no to taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.

Thank you, Congresswoman Buerkle, for standing up for women, young girls, and taxpayers. Later in the week, radio ads will air in the districts of Randy Hultgren (IL-14), Joe Walsh (IL-08), Frank Guinta (NH-02), Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-08) and Patrick Meehan (PA-07), thanking them for standing up for women.

The following week, Votes Have Consequences Project Director Marilyn Musgrave and former Planned Parenthood Clinic Manager Abby Johnson will hold press conferences with local pro-life leaders in districts thanking the Members above who voted to defund Planned Parenthood and targeting those who voted against the amendment.

Those targeted who voted against the amendment include Leonard Boswell (IA-03), Bruce Braley (D) (IA-01), Bill Keating (MA-10), David Cicilline (RI-01), Jason Altmire (PA-04), Maurice Hinchey (NY-22), Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and Bill Owens (NY-23).

The Susan B. Anthony List spent $11 million during the 2010 midterm election cycle. Overall, the SBA List was involved in 90 races including 62 wins and 28 losses. Successes included: defeating 15 of 20 so-called "pro-life" Democrats who voted for abortion funding in the health care reform bill; increasing the number of pro-life women in the House by 70 percent; filling the void of pro-life women in the U.S. Senate and increasing the number of pro-life women governors from one to four.

A Safe Place

Dr. Bernard Nathanson, once the foremost abortionist in the United States and then perhaps abortion's most effective opponent, died on Tuesday at age 84. The Washington Post obituary mentioned that his 28-minute film, The Silent Scream, released in 1985, "became a sensation, widely distributed by antiabortion groups and screened at the White House by President Ronald Reagan, who urged members of Congress to see the movie and 'move quickly to end the tragedy of abortion.'"

Peruvian bishops: Abortion is an injustice, not a right :: Catholic News Agency (CNA

Lima, Peru, Feb 25, 2011 / 03:54 pm (CNA).- The Peruvian bishops' defense of life committee recently released a statement explaining that any law permitting abortion is an injustice, not a right.

The bishops' message was released to mark the Day of the Unborn Child on March 25.

Only “ignorant minds opposed to the truth” could fail to recognize the human nature of the unborn as confirmed by science and the law, the statement continued.

The committee rejected the idea that the life of an unborn child is not as important as the mother’s just because the child does not yet “occupy a place in the world.”

The unborn are part “of the reality in which we live,” the committee said, and therefore they must be taken into account when decisions are made – including political ones. Human rights begin at the moment of conception, and therefore the unborn must never become mere scientific studies, the bishops added.

“Any law that allows abortion – even only in ‘limited cases’ – is an injustice and not a law. A law that leaves human life unprotected is questionable in and of itself,” they said.

The bishops urged that the Day of the Unborn Child, which coincides with the Feast of the Annunciation, be an occasion to celebrate human life as a “wondrous gift from God” entrusted to the care of a woman.

Homeless Alaskans help run Catholic shelter in effort to leave it

DeVika Rhodes speaks about how the volunteer program at Brother Francis Shelter in Anchorage has given her a second chance in life. — CatholicAnchor.org

Volunteer program gives residents a second chance

By EFFIE CALDAROLA

CatholicAnchor.org

Last October, DeVika Rhodes boarded a plane in Philadelphia with only a few dollars in her pocket, hoping for a fresh start in Alaska.

The 42-year-old mom had battled the recession in Philadelphia — taking every available job, including temporary work in construction. She had never slept in a homeless shelter or seen a soup kitchen but she arrived in Anchorage without a home or money for a hotel.

“One of the people I was on the plane with had been on all three of my flights from Philly. He told me, ‘There’s a shelter in Anchorage.’”

Four months later, she is grateful for the lifeline that the Catholic Social Services-run Brother Francis Shelter provided through a volunteer job at the downtown facility. And she is continuing to seek full-time work in Anchorage.

NO IDLE HANDS

Rhodes fills one of 49 homeless volunteer positions which keep Anchorage’s largest homeless shelter running smoothly. Volunteers answer phones, greet newcomers, monitor the premises, work in the kitchen, sort blankets and clothing donations and keep the place clean and inviting.

Darryl Payne, 42, is another homeless Alaskan taking advantage of the leg-up offered by Brother Francis Shelter’s In-House program as a kitchen supervisor. Payne has lived in Alaska most of his life but arrived at the shelter due to poor decisions and problems that included a divorce and trouble with the law.

After leaving the Wildwood Correctional Facility in Soldotna more than three years ago, Payne was determined to turn his life around. Through volunteering at Brother Francis, he now sees a brighter future.

“Brother Francis Shelter has been a good part of my change,” Payne explained. “If Brother Francis wasn’t here for me, I wouldn’t have been able to become stable.”

Dewayne Harris, program director at Brother Francis Shelter, said the volunteer program has two goals: to prepare residents for job readiness by giving them experience in the real-life responsibilities of a job, and to provide the shelter with help in operating the facility.

For example, those calling the shelter during the day may find the crisp, professional voice of Rhodes answering at the front desk.

The work comes with strict policies and procedures, which must be followed if a guest wishes to keep working. These include obeying curfew requirements and avoiding drugs and alcohol as well as performing the job efficiently.

Additionally, volunteers are required to be in case management — actively looking for full-time employment and expected to find a job within 60 days. The shelter permits schedules to be flexible enough to allow for job interviews.

“I’ll move mountains with their position here to keep them involved in their job hunt,” Harris said.

Volunteers are also required to save 70 percent of any income they receive — from salaries, disability checks or Permanent Fund Dividends.

But the in-house jobs also come with coveted privileges, including: a reserved bed, being allowed to remain in the building during the day, a personal storage locker and the right to extend the normal 30-day stay at the shelter to up to four months.

REAPING THE REWARDS

Shelter manager Jim Stout has a paid position and works directly under program director Harris.

Stout is a Brother Francis Shelter success story. The one-time homeless Alaskan has worked his way up through the system, has his own home and oversees a staff of 55 at the shelter.

There’s a lot of competition for the 49 in-house positions, Stout said, and not everybody can make it.

“If they can’t get along with other people, they can’t hold the job,” he said. “Curfew is a challenge for many, and also alcohol.”

As a volunteer, Payne has a small bedroom in the staff quarters, which accommodates up to 10 people. He said some people “choose to use the shelter as a flophouse for a hangover” and addiction and mental health problems plague many guests.

But if you’re motivated, “this is an awesome place for people wanting to help themselves.”

Payne, like most people, never envisioned himself needing a shelter and for him, it was a last resort after burning too many bridges.

“I came here because it was cold. I had nowhere else to go. I had a sweat suit on, forty dollars in my pocket, and I was isolated from my family. All I wanted was a bed for the night.”

He now sees his decision to come to the shelter as a pivotal one for his personal growth.

Harris said approximately 80 percent of shelter guests are men, and 20 percent female. Brother Francis is an adult shelter only, and about 35 percent of the guests already have full-time jobs.

“Who knows why they walk through our doors?” Harris said. It might be as simple as having lost the roommate who made an apartment affordable. It could be the loss of seasonal work.

On a recent February night, 250 men and women — ten over official capacity — filled the facility. On many cold winter nights, more than 300 people clamor for a spot on the floor, and the overflow is directed to nearby Beans’ Café, a soup kitchen, where shelter staff supervise for the night.

Rhodes remembers vividly her first night at the shelter.

“It was a shock to my heart,” she recalls. Having grown up in King of Prussia near Philadelphia, attended Catholic school through sixth grade, and worked most of her life, she never dreamed she’d find herself jobless and in a shelter.

Now, she has her resume out all over town, and hopes to bring her daughter, who receives her First Communion this spring, up to Anchorage as soon as she finds work.

“If you show the people here at Brother Francis you’re sincere and want to get on your feet, they’ll go to bat for you,” she said.

Operation Rescue: Important Announcement Wednesday Concerning Discovery of Abortion Abuses

Austin, TX — Operation Rescue recently conducted an audit of a dozen randomly selected abortion clinic in Texas. What we have discovered is disturbing.

At each and every abortion clinic that was the subject of our investigation, there were at least some violations of state and federal laws as well as health codes. In every case, laws were broken. Because of this, women’s health and privacy are routinely placed at risk.

“Our investigation focused on what the everyday woman would experience as a matter of routine at Texas abortion clinics,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “The general disrespect for the health, safety, and privacy of women – as well as the general public – was more than evident.

On Wednesday, March 2, 2011, Troy Newman and other activists will conduct a press conference in Austin where details of this investigation will be discussed.

Here is a schedule of our activities in Austin on Wednesday, March 2:

Press Conference
10:00 AM on the south steps of the Texas Capitol in Austin

Present evidence that crimes have been committed to the State Attorney General
1:00 AM at the office of the Attorney General, 300 W. 15th Street, Austin, TX 78701

Immediately after, we will go to the Capitol to lobby for pro-life legislation.

A full report, including a video, photo gallery, audio recordings and other evidence will be soon available at OperationRescue.org. Watch for updates on this breaking news story.

Please forward this message to your contacts in Texas and encourage them to attend the events there on Wednesday, and pray that the exposure of these abuses will result in the protection of lives, the closing of dangerous abortion mills, and the discipline of scofflaw abortionists who have been found to routinely flout the law.

Abortion draft guidelines slammed as "grossly inept" by pro-life group SPUC

London, 28 February 2010: Draft guidelines on abortion by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology (RCOG) have been slammed as "grossly inept" by the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), a leading pro-life group.

Paul Tully, SPUC general secretary, said: "The RCOG draft guidelines play down the physical and psychological side-effects of abortion, discounting the real and serious damage that abortion can cause. Ireland, where abortion is banned, scores the world's best record in maternal health year after year. Chile, where abortion is also banned, has the lowest maternal mortality rate in Latin America.

"The guidelines are very badly drafted, as they have totally confused Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and totally misunderstood the legal positions in both jurisdictions. This is grossly inept, as such misinformation could be extremely dangerous if followed.

Other black marks in the draft guidelines include:

  • the false claim that the right of conscientious objection to abortion only applies to doctors (line 1044) or only to doctors and nurses (line 1084) - when it applies to any person called upon to participate in an abortion
  • the contemplation of enforced abortions on some 16-17 year-olds (1260 - 1262)
  • failing to require that women be informed of alternatives to abortion and how to obtain such help (1438)
  • the failure to suggest that doctors should be wary of situations where women seek abortions on unlawful grounds (e.g. for social sex selection), or where women seek abortion under duress (1494)

Mr Tully concluded: "The RCOG has long since been an extension of the pro-abortion lobby. Its draft guidelines reflect that institutional bias and should therefore be binned."

"Can a woman forget her nursing child, or show no compassion for the child of her womb?"

TRUSTING IN GOD'S LOVE IN OUR DAILY LIVES

popedove.jpg

VATICAN CITY, 27 FEB 2011 (VIS) - At midday today Benedict XVI appeared at the window of his study to pray the Angelus with faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square below.

He commented on today's reading from the Prophet Isaiah who, consoling Jerusalem afflicted by calamities says: "Can a woman forget her nursing child, or show no compassion for the child of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you".

This phrase, said the Pope, is "a call to trust in the indefectible love of God", as is the episode in the Gospel of St. Matthew in which Jesus exhorts His disciples "to trust in the providence of the heavenly Father, Who nourishes the birds of the air, clothes the lilies of the field and knows our every need. Thus the Master says: 'Do not worry, saying: What will we drink? or: What will we wear? For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things?'

"Faced with the situation of so many people who, near and far, live in dire poverty, these words of Jesus may seem unrealistic, even evasive", the Holy Father added. "Yet in fact the Lord wants us to understand clearly that we cannot serve two masters: God and money. Those who believe in God, the Father full of love for His children, give priority to seeking His Kingdom and His will. This is the exact opposite of fatalism. ... Faith in Providence, does not, in fact, dispense us from the arduous struggle of living a dignified life, but frees us from our attachment to things and our fear of the morrow".

And he went on: "Clearly this teaching of Jesus, while it remains true and valid for everyone, is practiced in different ways depending on our different vocations: A Franciscan friar may follow it more radically, while a family man will have to take account of his duties towards his wife and children. Yet in all cases Christians stand out for their absolute faith in the heavenly Father, just like Jesus" Who "showed us what it means to live with our feet firmly planted on the ground, attentive to the real situation of our neighbours and, at the same time, with our hearts in heaven, immersed in God's mercy".

Finally the Pope called on the Virgin Mary to intercede "that we may all learn to live a more simple and sober life, working hard every day and respecting the creation which God entrusted to our care".

I think Justin Bieber is a wonderful role model for girls -- and boys.

Day Gardner, National Black Pro-Life Union Comments on Statements Made on the VIEW About Justin Bieber's Pro-Lif
One Less Lonely Girl

Image via Wikipedia

e Stance

WASHINGTON, Feb. 28, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by Day Gardner, President, National Black Pro-Life Union:

Recently, Justin Bieber's interview with Rolling Stone revealed his stance on pro-life issues and more, which were dismissed by "The View's" head, Barbara Walters as not "appropriate."

I could not believe it! The Vile, Vampire, View women were at it again -- spitting venom on a person, a young person at that, just because he has an opinion that differs from theirs. Justin Bieber should be applauded for not being afraid to speak his mind.

The sad thing is you won't find these women putting down Kanye West's idiotic death video that eroticizes dead women, or offensive comments made about women by other "celebrities."

Instead, they pick on someone who displays a bit of morality and character. Shame on them!

I am also pro-life...no exceptions! Rape and incest are horrible crimes where women are viciously and brutally injured both emotionally and physically. But we must remember in cases where a child is conceived, that child is completely innocent of any crime.

In most cases the offender -- if caught -- gets off after serving only a few years (or months) in jail or prison. Yet, the totally innocent child gets the death penalty! Where is the justice in that? There is something very wrong with that way of thinking.

Justin Bieber also said in the interview that he believes it's good to "wait" regarding sex. What a level headed thing to say! Yet, the View's Joy Behar expressed concern about the influence the singer's comments might have on young girls.

Are you kidding me? What kind of influence has she been to anyone -- with her foul mouth, equally foul jokes and crude attempt at humor?

I think Justin Bieber is a wonderful role model for girls -- and boys. It's important that Justin Bieber and his gazillion fans travel their own road.

Bieber, don't succumb to peer pressure -- or -- the pressure of some old ladies with a backward VIEW or maybe I should say, WIEV... yeah, that's more like it.

As Unions Rally in NJ, Disabled & Critically Ill Get Abandoned by Union Bus Drivers | RedState

Perhaps it’s just a coincidence. Then again, perhaps not. However, at the same time AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka went to New Jersey on Friday for a “solidarity” rally, a group of unionized bus drivers who transport developmentally disabled and critically ill patients decided to abandon their duties and stage a sick out.

Monmouth County transportation employees staged a sickout Friday that left 174 developmentally disabled clients waiting for a bus that never came and county officials scrambling to get critically ill patients to their dialysis appointments.

William K. Heine, a county spokesman, confirmed that two-thirds of workers did not come to work. Of those 25 workers, eight had a pre-approved day off. The others — 14 bus drivers and three office workers — called in sick.

[snip]

[County spokesman] Heine said he didn’t know the reason for the sickout at SCAT, which originally stood for Special Citizens Area Transportation. The unionized work force is not in the midst of contract negotiations, nor is there any apparent problems in the office that provides transportation services for developmentally disabled residents who need to get to their employment centers, senior citizens and seriously ill people who need help getting to dialysis treatments and other medical appointments.

Kevin Tauro, president of Communications Workers of America Local 1038, which represents the SCAT employees, could not be reached for comment. [Emphasis added.]

Hopefully, Monmouth County offcials will be conducting a thorough investigation because, if the unionized drivers opted to join the union rally, as opposed to doing their jobs transporting patients, their actions are reprehensible and they should be fired.

This is a sad story of union people gone mad! How can they live with themselves, knowing they have abandoned the sick and elderly? Dialysis people need constant care and could die if their blood is not cleansed from impurities through dialysis. There are a lot of people out of work who would love to have their sweet job of driving people around. If they don't like their jobs, quit and go somewhere else but don't make the sick suffer any more than they have too! Shame on you, who called out sick, making a lie on top of everything else. May God have mercy on your inhumanity!

UNBORN WORD of the day

The Incredible and True Story of Tom Thumb
February 27, 2011, 4:49 pm

“At the true age of one month, a human being is four and a half millimeters long. Its tiny heart has already been beating for a week, its arms, legs, head, brain are already recognizable. At two months old, from head to the tip of its bottom, the human embryo is about three centimeters long. It could fit curled up inside a walnut shell. Inside a clenched fist, it would be invisible, and the clenched fist would crush it accidentally without even noticing.

But open your hand, the embryo is almost complete, hands, feet, head, organs, brain, everything is in its place and from now on will merely grow. Look more closely , you can already read the life lines in its palms and predict its good fortunes. Look closer still, with an ordinary microscope, and you can see its fingerprints. Everything is already there and it would be possible to issue its identity card.”

“The incredible Tom Thumb, the man no bigger than my thumb, actually exists ; not the one in the fairy tale, but the one which every one of us once was.” Dr. Jerome LeJeune (the great pro-life scientist who discovered the cause of Downs Syndrome)

Prayers needed for March to City Council & Rally to Save Life Centers

Wed. 3/2 12:15PM-EST
Save the Life Centers Final Rally
before the
"Final Vote" on Bill #371
Prayers and Phone Calls Request

Where:
Trinity Church at Broadway and Wall Street
74 Trinity Place
New York, NY 10006

When:
Wednesday March 2, 2011 from 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM EST

This is it.

The moment we feared most, and tried to prevent.

In a few days, Christie Quinn's New York City Council will dedicate an entire meeting to promote pre-born child killing, the agenda of Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and the taking down of our pro-life movements' 23 NYC Life center sites. 12 of them are run by EMC, which I have directed for 26 years.

This coming Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011 is the final vote by the full NYC City Council on Bill #371 which will regulate the advertising, signage, and the speech with clients of all the individual crisis pregnancy center groups in the 5 boroughs.

If City Council leader Christine Quinn succeeds in passing Bill #371, it will be devastating.

We need to make a final, valiant and prayer full push, and to rally one more time for Life, for truth and for freedom. And to keep the phone calls to the City Council going from all across the world.

To uphold the 1st Amendment.

To protect our freedom to speak without government interference.

To serve expectant mothers, and help their children vulnerable to abortion, without threat of fines, lawsuits, and closure.

To save the Life centers.

To save the children, and their mothers from abortion.

I invite you to take an hour, in your own time zone to pray in solidarity with us in NYC.

We assemble at the sidewalk on Broadway at Wall Street in Manhattan at 12:15PM-EST, depart at 12:30PM, and arrive at 12:45PM at the Emigrant Savings Bank at 49-51 Chambers Street and Rally till at least 1:15PM.

Please let us now whether you can join us in person or will make calls instead, or have to decline with an RSVP below.

International committee gives award to Chile for successful protection of mothers and unborn children

chile20110225

New York, 25 February 2010: An international committee of over 30 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) has given Chile an award for the country's success in protecting both mothers and unborn children.

The International Protect Life Committee announced its award in a meeting with Chile's ambassador to the United Nations in New York today (high-resolution photograph http://bit.ly/i8TM5p ). The award recognised that Chile has the lowest maternal mortality rate in Latin America, at the same time that its laws and policies promote the health of unborn children. Abortion is banned in Chile.

Daniel Ziedler, the committee's coordinator, said that Ambassador Octavio Errazuriz was extremely pleased at the award. The ambassador repeated Chile's committment to the protection of both mothers and unborn children.

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), a leading European pro-life group with official NGO status at the UN, is represented on the committee. SPUC was represented at the meeting by Peter C. Smith.

Pro-Lifers to Boehner: Fight for Planned Parenthood De-Funding
A few dozen leaders of pro-life organizations sent House Speaker John Boehner a letter on Thursday asking him to fight for the Pence Amendment — the legislative language preventing the Planned Parenthood abortion business from receiving any taxpayer funds under the Continuing Resolution.

The groups fear that the Senate version of the bill to bill to temporarily fund the federal government will not contain similar language — making it so a conference committee of House and Senate leaders will have to negotiate a final version.

When those negotiation take place, which will include Boehner or his representatives, the pro-life groups want the Pence Amendment made a high priority.

The letter, which LifeNews.com signed onto, reads as follows: Full story at LifeNews.com

Jindal, Santorum Denounce Truce on Abortion, Social Issues
Without naming names, two top Republicans have joined in on the condemnation of the idea Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels puts forward saying there should be a truce on social issues like abortion so the next president can deal with the economy.

In a new question and answer session with the magazine Christianity Today, pro-life Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal took exception to the call for a truce. Jindal's comments are important because he was considered a potential 2012 presidential candidate and is still highly-regarded by most Republicans.

"Indiana governor Mitch Daniels called for a truce on social issues until economic issues are resolved. Is this possible?" the magazine asked him.

"I think that it's absolutely critical to get the economy growing without raising taxes or increasing the deficit," he responded, but he quickly added his support for social issues.

"I'm also proud to belong to a party that stands for the sanctity of human life and traditional marriage. Those values remain important during good and bad economic times," Jindal said. Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Life Priest Offers to Pay for Baby Joseph's Surgery
An American Catholic priest who heads a pro-life group has offered to pay for all of the costs associated with getting 13-month-old Joseph Maraachli from Canada to the United States for surgery so he can go home to be with his parents. Baby Jospeh is the subject of controversy    as his parents are fighting a hospital that wants to remove his breathing tube.

Doctors at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, who have been treating the boy for a fatal degenerative disorder, want to remove the breathing tube that is keeping him alive. His parents, Moe Maraachli and Sana Nader, are fully aware that their son will not recover, but they want doctors to fit Joseph with a tracheotomy so they can bring him home as they did eight years ago with their baby daughter Zina, who had a similar condition and died six months after they brought her home.

Instead of doing the tracheotomy, the doctors asked Ontario's Consent and Capacity board for permission to remove the breathing tube. A judge last week agreed with the doctors' position.

Father Frank Pavone, who became known as the "Terri Schiavo Priest" for his role in trying to save the life of a Florida woman in 2005, has joined the fight to save Baby Joseph. Terri's    family is already involved. Full story at LifeNews.com

Black Pro-Life Advocates Upset Abortion Billboard Axed in NYC
Leading black pro-life advocates are not happy that Lamar advertising company took down a billboard a pro-life group put up in the SoHo district of New York City raising awareness about the high rates of abortions on black children.

The pro-life group Life Always paid for the billboard, to try to draw attention to the fact that abortions kill 300,000 black unborn children annually. In fact, new data put out by the CDC Thursday indicates black babies are victims of abortions at a much higher rate than their white or Hispanic counterparts.
Responding to complaints from abortion advocates, the outdoor advertising company that sold the space to the pro-life group for the billboard said on Thursday that it would remove the four-story sign. It also cited alleged complaints from the employees at the Mexican restaurant located on the bottom floor of the several story building bearing the ad that Lamar said were facing harassment but that local media outlets could not verify.

Catherine Davis of the National Black Prolife Coalition told LifeNews.com the incident will be one pro-life black leaders will touch on at a press conference on Monday, and she complained the billboard "was pulled in an attempt to silence that debate" on abortion. Full story at LifeNews.com

FBI Arrests Pro-Abortion Activist for Threatening Pro-Lifers
FBI officials have arrested a pro-abortion activist who reportedly threatened at least two unnamed pro-life advocates and other pro-life stalwarts.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation yesterday arrested abortion supporter Theodore Shulman, 49, and charged him with communicating interstate threats against two pro-life advocates. Shulman is currently being held without bond at Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City, which is a federal holding facility.

Operation Rescue officials, who have been on the receiving end of Shulman's threats, were informed about the information in the complaint against him before it went under seal. The two people Shulman threatened are simply referred to as Victim 1 and Victim 2 and the pro-life group told LifeNews.com it is withholding the identities in order to protect their safety.

In addition to the two victims listed in the federal complaint against Shulman, Operation Rescue's two full-time staffers Troy Newman and Cheryl Sullenger as well as pro-life blogger Jill Stanek have been targets of the pro-abortion activist's threats. Bryan Kemper, the founder of Stand true, the pro-life group that sponsors the red tape day for students to stand up in silent solidarity for unborn children at their schools, also received death threats from Shulman. Full story at LifeNews.com

Family of Terri Schiavo Comes to Defense of Baby Joseph
The family of Terri Schiavo knows something about having the power of medical decisions taken away from them — as they confronted the man who decided to take the live of their beloved daughter and sister. Now, they are coming to the aide of the parents of 13-month-old Joseph Maraachli as they are fighting a hospital that wants to remove his breathing tube.

Baby Joseph has been at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, in October with a rare deteriorating condition that is not improving.

The doctors who have cared for him want to remove his breathing tube but Moe Maraachli and Sana Nader took their battle to court to allow the tube to be removed at home, so the boy can die surrounded by his family. A Superior Court judge in London, Ontario, last week, dismissed the request of the Canadian couple to overturn a decision requiring the removal of their baby's breathing tube in a hospital instead of at home.

Baby Joseph's parents want a tracheotomy performed on their son so they can take him off the respirator and bring him home to live his last days surrounded by family. The London hospital has refused to perform the procedure.

Yesterday, Bobby Schindler, Terri's brother, appeared on behalf of Joseph's parents at a press conference as they responded to the latest developments in the case.

"We are fully supporting (the family) in their efforts to bring Baby Joseph home, which is what our family was trying to do with Terry," he said, according to the London Free Press. "Unfortunately we weren't able to do that. My father could never forgive himself for not being able to protect his daughter." Full story at LifeNews.com

Tax-Subsidized Abortions on College Campuses Must be Stopped
The debate over Obamacare last spring raised the issue of abortion coverage in health-insurance plans. This is more prevalent than many people realize. Last spring, reports indicated that anywhere from 50 percent to 80 percent of privately held insurance plans cover abortion services. Even worse, a recently released study by Students for Life of America (SFLA) indicates that abortion is covered by many student insurance plans offered by leading colleges and universities.

The SFLA study carefully researched the health-insurance plans offered by the 200 largest colleges in the United States.

The findings were astonishing. Of the 200 schools studied, 86 offered health-insurance plans that cover abortion. Even worse, 38 schools automatically enroll students into a plan which covers abortion. Now, in many cases students can opt out. However, many will not because they are unaware these plans cover abortion or simply because school-sponsored health plans often cost less than commercial plans. This study clearly reveals that many students and taxpayers are unknowingly subsidizing abortion on college campuses across America. Full story at LifeNews.com

Planned Parenthood's Coverup: Attacking Pro-Life Hero Phill Kline
Phill Kline is a pioneer. In 2007, as Kansas Attorney General, he became the first prosecutor to bring criminal charges against Planned Parenthood anywhere in the country. That lawsuit — all 107 counts, including 23 felonies, which detail illegal abortions and forged records — is still pending, delayed by brazenly corrupt judges arm-in-arm with the abortion industry. Full story at LifeNews.com

Top Activist Admits Pro-Abortion Movement Losing, in Tailspin
Frances Kissling, the former president of Catholics for Choice, wrote an opinion piece in Friday's Washington Post titled, "Abortion rights are under attack, and pro-choice advocates are caught in a time warp." Kissling concedes that the pro-abortion movement has steadily lost ground with the American public because they have been unwilling to adapt their arguments to the changes in science and technology which make the unborn child ever more visible. Full story at LifeNews.com

Abortion Practitioner Placed on Probation for Abusing Drugs
The Arizona Medical Board has issued a decision restricting the medical license of abortion practitioner Gabrielle Goodrick for abusing prescription drugs. Goodrick had her license to practice medicine restricted in December 2010 due to abuse of prescription medication. Now, in a new Order for Probation with License Restriction, the Board issued findings of fact and conclusions of law restricting her use of intravenous and prescription medication and putting her on probation for five years.

NBC Still Ignores Planned Parenthood Sex Trafficking Videos
You can lead a network to a story, but you can't make it report. Certainly not if the story reveals the disturbing truth about one of liberalism's sacrosanct institutions – the largest abortion-provider in the United States. The broadcast networks' coverage of the scandal and potential defunding of Planned Parenthood by the House of Representatives has been disgraceful.

Louisiana Law Shutting Down Abortion Center Upheld in Court
A federal court on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit filed by abortion advocates against a Louisiana law requiring them to meet certain patient health and safety regulations. Last November, because they were not content to allow a Louisiana law to stand that allows the health department  to hold abortion centers accountable for violating health and safety standards, five abortion centers and an abortion practitioner filed the lawsuit contenting the law allows the health department to suspend or revoke their licenses "based on any violation of any state or federal law or regulation" without warning.

Virginia Activists Admit: It's Abortion, Not Women's Health
In the Commonwealth of Virginia, under legislation passed yesterday, any physician's office performing five or more first trimester abortions a month will now be classified as a hospital, subject to special regulations established by the state Board of Health within the next 280 days. Upset by the new legislation – which passed by a bipartisan vote – Senate Majority Leader Richard Saslaw (D-Fairfax) said, "You know and I know there isn't but one issue involved here. It's abortion. … It isn't women's health."
