YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS AT WORK: AUL PROVIDED NUMEROUS WAYS TO SHOW WASHINGTON, D.C. THAT "LIFE COUNTS"... AND THOUSANDS RESPONDED

Each cold and often dismal January, thousands come to Washington, D.C. to remember those who do not walk among us, the unborn who have lost their lives to abortion in the 38 years since Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. AUL organized a number of projects to draw attention to this tragic date in history. From receptions at AUL for pro-life leaders to a unique, on-line petition, to the release of the “Life List” (which ranked all 50 states based on how they respect life in the law from cradle to grave), to signs which proclaimed the message “Life Counts,” AUL provided a way for people to mark the tragic anniversary and a way to be counted.

As a picture is worth a thousand words, here is a look at all the good you did in supporting AUL, and for those who could not come to Washington, D.C. to March for Life, consider joining us in 2012.

AUL IN THE NEWS

AUL achieved tremendous coverage over the last few weeks. In fact, AUL and AULA were mentioned close to 2,000 times in media reports since the release of the Guttmacher data on abortion earlier this month. The release of AUL’s Life List led to tremendous, nationwide coverage, with great pick up as state-based media noted their own state’s performance. Take a look at some big hits from the last week:

The Associated Press and New York Times were among the news leaders that featured the “Life List,” including pick-ups in USA Today, Politico, and the Washington Post. Click on the links to read about how pro-life Americans are looking for success at the state level:
Associated Press - New York Times.

Dr. Charmaine Yoest discussed how abortion has been written into the health care law in an insightful piece at the Fox News website. Click here to read it.

AUL’s Senior Counsel Clarke Forsythe described in the Weekly Standard how the wrongly decided Roe v. Wade allows a legal vacuum to exist which led to the actions of the now-indicted Philadelphia abortionist. Click here to read the story.

In fact, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann took note of AUL’s data in her column at Human Events. Click here to read more.

And for a closing look at AUL’s “Life Counts” and “Defund Planned Parenthood” signs, check out this article on the March for Life at the Weekly Standard.
