Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

Retired priest at center of custody battle between family and former Arizona caretaker

"An elderly defenseless priest"



A custody battle between an Arizona woman and a priest's family threatens the life and dignity of California-based Fr. Bernard "Brian" Gallagher, 76, a retired priest from the Diocese of Yakima, Washington.

"In my 25 years of legal practice, I have never seen a more egregious abuse of the legal system to victimize an elderly defenseless priest," said attorney Greg Weiler, who represents Fr. Gallagher and his family. "I am absolutely confident that the Probate Court in Los Angeles will protect Father and award custody to his family."
