Win up to $1000
Sarah's Law backers sponsoring YouTube video contest to promote initiative
Although the initiative will appear on the California ballot in November, contestants need not be from California – or the United States for that matter, sponsors said.
All entries must be received by Monday, June 30, and should be sent to info@FriendsofSarah.com. Entries should be in the form of a posting to YouTube, and the url of the YouTube submission must accompany all entries.
"Make your own TV ad," says an announcement of the contest. "With YouTube technology, anyone can make a 30- or 60-second ad -- use the story of a young girl you know, make a spoof of arguments from the other side, use animation, use materials already on FriendsofSarah.com and dramatize them."
First place prize for the Friends of Sarah YouTube Video Contest is $1000. The 2nd and 3rd place prize is $500, and four honorable mention prizes of $250 each will be awarded.
If sufficient money is raised for advertising later in the campaign, winning videos may air on television.
