Pediatrician: Jahi McMath is Not “Brain Dead,” Can Recover With Proper Care
A leading pediatrician says that Jahi McMath, who is at the center of a national debate about whether she should remain on life support, is not “brain dead” and can recover with proper care and nutrition. Late Monday afternoon, the judge in the case granted an extension for life support after a legal request from her family’s attorney.

Dr. Paul A. Byrne, a Neonatologist who is the Director of Neonatology and Director of Pediatrics at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon, Ohio, has given a new interview to a local NBC television station. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/12/31/leading-pediatrician-jahi-mcmath-is-not-brain-dead-can-recover-with-proper-care/
MSNBC Host Apologizes for Mocking Mitt Romney’s Family for Adopting Black Baby
A pro-abortion MSNBC host apologized today for mocking the family of Mitt Romney for adopting a baby who is black.

MSNBC host Melissa Harris Perry, who wore tampon earrings during a July broadcast, mocked the Romney family. She sent out the following tweets this morning:

Terri Schiavo’s Family Helping Jahi McMath’s Family Secure Transfer to New Hospital
The family of Terri Schiavo, who made international headlines when he husband starved and dehydrated her to death over the course of two weeks, has been quietly helping the family of Jahi McMath find a new hospital or medical facility that will provide her care.
News that Terri Schiavo’s brother Bobby Schindler, also a LifeNews guest blogger, is assisting the McMath family, follows on a judge’s decision allowing the McMath family more time to secure transfer for Jahi to a facility. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/12/31/terri-schiavos-family-helping-jahi-mcmaths-family-secure-transfer-to-new-hospital/

Court: Obama Admin Can’t Make Pro-Life Group Pay Fines for Not Obeying HHS Mandate
In a huge victory for Priests for Life, a pro-life organization, a federal appeals court has issued a ruling saying it doesn’t have to pay massive fines to the federal government for not obeying the HHS mandate, which forces religious groups and companies to pay for birth control or abortion-causing drugs for their employees.
An emergency injunction granted late this afternoon in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit means that Priests for Life will not have to obey the contraception mandate contained in the Affordable Care Act as its appeal is being heard. It also means that, tomorrow, Priests for Life will not have to cancel health insurance for its employees. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/12/31/court-obama-admin-cant-make-pro-life-group-pay-fines-for-not-obeying-hhs-mandate/

NYC Mayor: Horse-Drawn Carriages in Central Park “Inhumane,” Abortions Okay
Bill de Blasio, New York’s incoming mayor, apparently loves animals more than people. He thinks horse-drawn carriages in Central Park are “inhumane.” But abortions in New York City, which is the abortion capital of America given its ridiculously high abortion rates? No problem.

Fox News reports on de Blasio’s concern about horse-drawn carriages: New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has vowed to move quickly to outlaw the horse-drawn carriages that pull tourists around the city’s famous Central Park. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/12/31/nyc-mayor-horse-drawn-carriages-in-central-park-inhumane-abortions-okay/
“I Had an Abortion But Am Still Pregnant Three Months Later,” Couple Keeps Baby This Time
Shannon Skinner had an abortion when she was eight weeks pregnant, or so she thought. She already had a four-month-old baby and she and partner Anthony were “having problems” so they decided abortion was the best answer as opposed to a second baby.
But after the abortion, Skinner continued to have morning sickness and to feel the unborn baby’s movements. After consulting a physician, she received word that the movements were just an after-effect of the abortion. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/12/31/i-had-an-abortion-but-am-still-pregnant-three-months-later-couple-keeps-baby-this-time/
Former Abortion Clinic Staffer: “When I Saw the Baby’s Face I Knew We Killed a Human Being”
In 2008 The Population Research Institute published a testimony from the former medical director of an abortion clinic whose name was given as Zlata. Although she had been so committed to abortion that she worked in the clinic for six years, Zlata now considers herself pro-life. She tells her story:
“I remember assisting, once in particular, in the operating room at the clinic where I had been a medical assistant for six years. I was standing behind the doctor and could see everything as he was performing an abortion on a woman who was 20 – 22 weeks pregnant.” http://www.lifenews.com/2013/12/31/former-abortion-clinic-staffer-when-i-saw-the-babys-face-i-knew-we-killed-a-human-being/

Heroic News: “Judge extends deadline to keep Jahi McMath on life support” plus 4 more

heroicnews
The family of a 13-year-old California girl declared brain dead rejoiced Monday after a superior court judge extended a deadline to keep the teen on a ventilator as her family attempts to move her to a new facility.
An abortionist accused of not reporting a 13-year-old girl's abortion as required by a law designed to catch child molesters will be taking a “hiatus” from providing abortions in Fort Wayne.
If Belgium continues on its reckless path towards child euthanasia, as seems likely, what will the conversations look like that precedes the killing of a child?
29-year-old Dreonna Breton a nurse at Lancaster General Hospital refused to get a flu shot out of concerns for her unborn baby after suffering two miscarriages this year. The hospital promptly fired her for not receiving the shot regardless of her personal beliefs or reasoning for not doing so.
A survey, conducted by pro-life organization Operation Rescue, found that the total number of surgical abortion clinics remaining in the United States is now 582, a twelve percent decrease in surgical abortion clinics in 2013 alone, and a 73 percent drop from a 1991 high of 2,176.

Day Gardner Comments on Jahi McMath and Her Family's Struggle to Keep Her Alive

Day Gardner Comments on Jahi McMath and Her Family's Struggle to Keep Her Alive
Contact: Day Gardner, 202-834-0844daygardner23a@aol.com

WASHINGTON, Dec. 31, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by Day Gardner, President of the National Black Pro-Life Union:
Less than an hour before the hospital was slated to disconnect Jahi McMath from a ventilator, her family won a last-minute extension on a restraining order that prevents Children's Hospital Oakland from removing the teen from a ventilator for another week.

I can't believe we have come to this. A person can have a heartbeat, a pulse and can even be breathing, yet in America a group of doctors can determine that persons' value. How is that?

Jahi McMath is in danger of being starved and dehydrated to death while judges and doctors play tiddleywinks with a young girl's life.

The order by Alameda County Superior Court Judge Evelio Grillo gives Jahi's family until 5 p.m. Jan. 7 to appeal to a higher court and find a new facility for the teen left brain-dead on Dec. 12 following complications from a tonsillectomy.

We live in a society where medicine, science, doctors and judges are deemed the "be all-end all" with regards to life issues. I believe in a higher authority.

I believe that Jahi is sleeping and given enough time, God can and will decide when and if she awakens. I am praying for a miracle.

There is so much evil associated with those trying to kill Jahi. For instance, even though Jahi's family's attorney, Christopher Dolan, filed papers in three courts Monday to keep the hospital disconnecting the girl from her ventilator, hospital spokesman Sam Singer said the hospital plans to fight all three filings.

Really...are they that determined to kill this child?

I am asking the Christian community to join me in prayer with heartfelt faith -- knowing that the God we serve is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. We remember the amazing miracles of the Bible and we have seen amazing miracles in present day.

Lift your voices for healing in Jesus' name. Jahi is alive -- until God says otherwise!

Heroic News: “Pregnant teen dies in tragic Christmas shooting, doctors save her baby” plus 6 more

Police found the 17-year-old girl, 5 ½-months pregnant, shot in the head and left in the snow between two homes in the 1100 block of East 152nd Street in south suburban Dolton. Doctors were able to save her unborn baby.
Dr. Beverly McMillan is a former abortionist who left the abortion business. She spoke at a conference sponsored by the Pro-Life Action League called “Meet the Abortion Providers,” which took place in Chicago. She has also told her story to Focus on the Family, which published her testimony in a pamphlet called “How One Doctor Changed Her Mind on Abortion.”
Forth Wayne, Indiana is temporarily abortion-free now that an abortion practitioner who failed to properly report cases of statutory rape to state officials has stopped doing abortions. How long Ulrich Klopfer, the Illinois-based abortion practitioner who did abortions in this large Indiana city until problems came up recently, will stop doing abortions remains to be seen.
The family of the teenage girl in California who is the subject of a national debate over whether a hospital has the right to yank life support has found a new care facility that will continue her medical care and treatment. But the hospital she is at now won’t cooperate to move her.
As Anissa Smith, spokeswoman for the California Pro-Life Council, NRLC’s state affiliate, has observed, the California Business and Professions Code prohibits abortions being done on animals unless the abortionist is a trained and certified veterinary surgeon. “As of today, a mother dog will have more dignity in the eyes of California law than a vulnerable young mother talked into an abortion by a Planned Parenthood staffer,” Smith said.

Though a federal judge struck down Utah’s 'same-sex marriage' ban and another chipped away at a similar law in Ohio in the last week, experts warned that about 30 similar state statutes weren’t necessarily under threat despite mounting legal challenges.
The network and the Robertson family announced Friday that Phil will still be part of the series -- and since he didn't miss any filming, his temporary suspension will have no effect on the upcoming fifth season.
