Praying for Life Year-Round
June 2015
Intercession

May those who mourn the loss of a child through abortion know the limitless mercy and healing love of Jesus.
Prayer
Our Father, 3 Hail Marys, Glory Be
Reflection
Participation in abortion and the experience of the subsequent aftermath is one of the great sufferings of our time. However, there can be deep healing through Christ's love, grace and mercy. The month of June honors the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the heart that offers us infinite mercy and peace. Let us pray that those who have participated in abortion find peace and healing through Christ's forgiveness and everlasting love.
Acts of Reparation (choose one)
  • Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for all who suffer the loss of a child through abortion.

  • Do some spiritual reading. We have a wealth of wisdom and inspiration at our fingertips in the writings of the saints, who can offer helpful and transformative words that can strengthen our relationship with God. If you're not sure where to start, take a look at these quotes on Divine Mercy.

  • When you encounter difficulties today, unite yourself with Christ in the earthly suffering of his Passion, and offer your own suffering for those who have lost a child through abortion. We have the opportunity of drawing closer to Christ, who "has given a new meaning to suffering," when we unite ourselves with him in His earthly suffering (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1505*).
One Step Further

"Abortion affects countless marriages more than many people recognize. But there is no doubt that God will bring great healing to those who trust in his infinite mercy."

"Healing within Marriage from an Abortion" discusses post-abortion healing within a marriage, recognizing that even if an abortion did not occur within the marriage, it can still have a negative effect on the marriage. It might feel daunting to consider seeking help or embracing healing, but "for God, all things are possible" (Mt 19:26).
