The View’s Joy Behar on Tuesday insisted that, regardless of whether Bill Clinton raped a woman or Ted Kennedy drowned someone, she would vote for these liberal politicians. Behar and her fellow co-hosts were discussing how Clinton’s past would impact his wife. She justified, “Republicans have voted against the Violence Against Women Act. Now, that to me, is more important than anything that Bill Clinton did or didn’t do because it’s what [Hillary’s] going to vote for.”

John Stamos: I Got a Woman Pregnant and We Aborted Our Baby Because It Was “Bad Timing”
In a new tell-all interview, TV star John Stamos revealed that he once got a girl pregnant and they aborted their unborn baby. Stamos, famous for his role on the 1980s hit TV show Full House, told radio host Howard Stern on Monday about the struggles he has battled throughout his life, including grief, sleep, and drug and alcohol addiction.

Surrogate Pregnant With Triplets Sues to Stop Birth Father’s Demand She Have an Abortion
A California surrogate mother filed a lawsuit Monday to protect one of her unborn triplets from being aborted by the biological father. The New York Post reports that the babies’ biological father is demanding that one of the triplets be aborted because he only wants two of the children. The unnamed Georgia man threatened to not pay surrogate Melissa Cook if she refused to abort one of the babies.

Obama Wants Supreme Court to Overturn Texas Law Saving 10,000 Babies From Abortion
President Barack Obama’s administration has weighed in on what will become the Supreme Court’s next big abortion case. A small group of abortion clinics in Texas wants the Supreme Court to overturn a pro-life law the state legislature passed to protect women’s health that has already saved over 10,000 babies from abortions. The Obama administration has just joined their fight to overturn the pro-life law.

Pro-Life Governor Nikki Haley Will Deliver Republican Response to Obama’s State of the Union
Governor Nikki Haley, the pro-life Republican governor of South Carolina, will deliver the Republican response to pro-abortion President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address next week. Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell chose Haley for the difficult task of responding of the president. Obama’s speech is set for 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

Woman Dies After Hospital Declared Her “Brian Dead” and Threatened to Pull the Plug Without Consent
A young woman declared brain dead at a Nevada hospital in May died Monday while on life support. The Associated Press reports that Aden Hailu, the 20-year-old college student at the center of a legal battle after the hospital attempted to remove her from a ventilator, died about 4:30 p.m. Monday at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada.

Belgian Archbishop Refuses Euthanasia in Catholic Hospital






Battle lines drawn in Belgium over conscience

Family set to sue over ‘non-euthanasia’ in Catholic aged care home.

Over recent weeks the issue of conscientious objection, or the ‘conscience clause’ in the Belgian euthanasia law has been brought into the spotlight by the assertion by the new Archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels, Jozef De Kesel, that he has the right to refuse Catholic hospitals and aged care facilities to co-operate with euthanasia.
Euthanasia advocates both in academia and in the medical profession have bristled at the suggestion that institutions might say ‘non’ with many displaying a distinct and disturbing lack of understanding about the status of the 14 year old statute that allows doctors to kill their patients.
The Belgian law clearly provides a conscientious ‘out’ for doctors and others assisting in a euthanasia but it is otherwise silent about institutions. Some suggest that the extension to institutions such as a church ae implied while others suggest, dubiously to my thinking, that the silence suggests otherwise.
While, initially at least, this seemed like very much like an academic exercise with no-one really expecting the new bishop to force a show down. But a showdown was already in the making.
Various Belgian news outlets, today, are running with a story about a refusal by a Catholic nursing home to allow a doctor onto their premises to perform euthanasia. According to reports, the 74-year-old woman was terminally ill with metastatic cancer and living in the St. Augustine residential care centre in Diest.
The process of requesting euthanasia began in 2011 and progressed for six months before St. Augustine’s management refused access supposedly only days before the euthanasia was to take place. The various stories do not say whether or not the facility was formally aware of the process, however the family of the woman say that, after initially believing that the matter was simply a misunderstanding, they arranged for the woman to be transported to a private residence where the death took place. The family are claiming that the facility caused additional psychological and physical suffering for their mother.
The matter is listed to be heard in a civic court in Leuven in April – four and a half years after the death and after the matter had already been postponed twice before; why, we are not told.
I smell a rat. This issue precedes the current controversy but it does not take a cynic to question why, all-of-a-sudden, a matter that has twice been suspended over a death that took place over four years ago where the woman got what she wanted, is suddenly before the media and the courts?
If that were not enough to have any conspiracy theorist salivating, the lawyer for the woman’s family, Sylvie Tack, has a longstanding professional relationship to Belgian euthanasia supremo, Wim Distelmans and his Life Ending Information Network (LEIF) being lecturer, speaker and part of their peer review panel. Not a ‘hanging-offence’ certainly, but enough to question which was the horse and which the cart.
Overall, it may well be that Archbishop De Kesel was well aware of this pending case when he made his pre-Christmas declaration. If so, then full marks to him. As we observed earlier, it seems likely now that the courts may well determine the interpretation of Article 14 of the Belgian law.
It does not seem likely that the complaint by the woman’s family is principally about her treatment or any recompense or restitution for ‘suffering or loss’. As their lawyer told De Morgen: “The new Act states that doctors and staff who are involved in the euthanasia, can have conscientious objection. But the health care institution itself should not interfere with it themselves.”
Make no mistake: if ever there was going to be a test case, this is it. Rightly or wrongly, Belgian’s euthanasia supremos have always seen the Catholic Church and its influence as the last bulwark standing against them. I have heard them say as much personally. Perhaps, ironically, they also see Catholicism as the last voice of conscience – to which they clearly object.

Liturgy and Culture---What is the Connection?



Dear Friends of Radio Maria and One More Soul,
Today we will continue our Quest for a Culture of Life by continuing our teaching on what is good Liturgy and why good Liturgy is necessary for a Culture of Life. 
Some may ask, "What does God have to do with a Culture of Life?" Of course, God is the creator of all things and especially the great gift of LIFE.  In return, God expects us to love, honor and obey Him, as He stated in the FIRST GREAT COMMANDMENT.  And we do that in the most intimate way by our full and vigorous participation in the Mass--the Liturgy--the Eucharist.  The premise is that we will do the Second Great Commandment (Culture) well in proportion to how well we "do" the First Great Commandment.  

If the "culture" is an indication of how well we do the 2nd GC--and I think it is--then we aren't doing very well at either.  I say that because of the persistent attacks on life, family, the Church, our neighborhoods, and the acceptance of the intrinsic evils of contraception, abortion, same sex "marriage", Physician Assisted Suicide, empty churches, closed Catholic schools, etc, etc.
Our Guest today is Father Ewe Michael Lang.  He joins us from London England, where he is a priest of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri. He has his PhD in Theology, and speaks and writes extensively on the Liturgy. Among his publications are Turning Towards the Lord, The Voice of the Church at Prayer, and Signs of the Holy One, which shows that Catholic liturgy includes gesture, music, art, and architecture as aspects of the non-verbal language of the sacred and are what make the liturgy beautiful. All are published by Ignatius Press.

Obama Has a Choice: Support the People or Support Planned Parenthood
 After this week, pro-abortion President Barack Obama will have a choice. The House of Representatives will vote Wednesday to confirm the changes the Senate made to the reconciliation bill that would de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business, which was caught selling the body parts of aborted babies. Hearings have exposed how the abortion company likely violated federal laws to sell the body parts.

BlackLivesMatter Speaker Bashes Pro-Lifers: “Too Busy Banning Abortion” to Care About Foster Kids
 A Christian college group faces backlash this week after one of its conference speakers criticized pro-lifers for not doing enough. Michelle Higgins, an activist with Black Lives Matter and Urbana 15, told about 16,000 people at an InterVarsity Christian Fellowship mission conference that pro-lifers focus too much on banning abortion and not enough on adoption, according to the Christian Post. Higgins addressed the crowd during the Dec. 28 event in St. Louis Missouri, the report states.
