Supreme Court Holds Hearing on Texas Law Saving Tens of Thousands of Babies From Abortion
The Supreme Court today held oral arguments in the potential landmark case Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt that concerns a Texas pro-life law. the law is arguably responsible for saving the lives of tens of thousands of unborn babies by closing abortion clinics that are unable to protect women’s health. The laws protects women’s health and welfare by requiring abortion clinics to meet the kinds of medical and safety standards that legitimate medical centers meet.

Episcopalian Priest Aborted Her Baby So She Could Finish Divinity School
Abortion advocates across the nation are trying to send the U.S. Supreme Court a message: Women need abortions to be successful. This insulting notion has been the underlying theme of dozens of stories pro-abortion women have submitted to the high court ahead of its hearing on a Texas pro-life law, which has been credited with saving more than 10,000 babies’ lives.

Judie Brown: "Planned Parenthood's dirty underbelly is growing rancid"

When something reeks as much as Planned Parenthood does, it should be thrown out with the trash.

Underbelly: "a part of society, an organization, etc., that is hidden and usually unpleasant"

Hold your nose. Things are about to get downright putrid when considering the spread of Planned Parenthood's offensive activities. Just take a moment and consider these things before deciding whether or not the world really needs this organization.

"It's a Freak Show" at the Supreme Court! Prayer Needed!

Also, an important House hearing on Bioethics Fetal Tissue is in progress!
March 2, 2016

Dear Friends of Life,

Today is a momentous day for those of us who oppose the evil destruction of innocent human life through abortion, and we are asking you to pray with us today for God's favor for two very important events that could have an impact on abortion in this country.

Right now, Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, is on the ground in Washington, D.C. at the Supreme Court amid a throng of about 1,000 angry pro-aborts waiving crazy signs that show their selfish hatred for the lives of others. These people oppose abortion safety and desire that abortion be unrestricted, unregulated, and unaccountable - just like the days of the so-called back alley!

Whole Women's Health v. Hellerstadt

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments today in Whole Women's Health v. Hellerstadt. This is the most important case heard by the nation's highest court in 25 years! It is a challenge to a 2013 Texas abortion licensing and safety law known as HB2 that, among other provisions, requires abortionists to maintain hospital privileges within 30 miles of their abortion facilities. This requirement has already shut down half of Texas' 42 abortion clinics that operated prior to the passage of the law.

Operation Rescue published a report just yesterday of a medical emergency at a Dallas, Texas abortion facility that required the patient to be transported by ambulance to a local emergency room. This incident is a case in point for the need for abortion safety and for the Court uphold HB2.

Two friend of the court briefs have been filed that have relied heavily on Operation Rescue's research and work. Read the Liberty Counsel brief filed on behalf of Operation Rescue and the brief filed by the American Center for Law and Justice, which heavily cites our work.

A favorable decision could have a wide-reaching impact on our nation that could lead to the closure of more abortion facilities, and as Troy Newman is fond of saying, "When abortion clinics lose, lives are saved."

House Hearing on Bioethics and Fetal Tissue

The second important event that requires our prayer is the first hearing of the House Select Panel on Infant Lives that will take place at 10:00 a.m. This hearing and panel investigation was prompted by undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress that revealed Planned Parenthood's participation in the illegal trafficking of fetal remains for profit.

That hearing will be live-streamed at this link, where you can also access the witness list and their written statements.

We pray that God will be merciful and cause the SCOTUS case and House Select Panel investigation to dramatically reduce or even eliminate the Abortion Cartel's capacity to wage war on the pre-born and their mothers.

From 40 Days For Life: DAY 22: Peace silences anger

40 Days for Life
Dear Deacon John,

Angry. Bigoted. Intimidating. Rude.

Those are the stereotypes that the media – and the abortion industry – give to those who peacefully pray outside abortion facilities.

And how we respond either validates or refutes those stereotypes.

Today we all get a textbook lesson in how to share the love of Christ ... and how to respond to the anger that abortion causes in our world.

The example comes from some I know and respect very much. Planned Parenthood can’t help but know him; he practically lives his life praying for them where they work!

Meet Joe ... learn his story ... and see how God works through those who are peacemakers.

Montgomery County, Texas

“Clients began gathering at Planned Parenthood’s front door,” said Joe, one of the volunteers, “waiting for them to open. And that’s when it happened.”

A driver passing by yelled angrily – then took a U-turn at the corner and returned to yell some more. But she wasn’t finished.

“She got out of her car with eyes flashing and lit into me,” he said. “She was so angry her face was red as a beet.” Even Planned Parenthood’s clients were now watching.

“I didn’t know what to say or do,” Joe said. “God took over.”

At first he just let her vent. Then she started flinging questions. Why wasn’t he doing something useful like helping the homeless? Why was he trying to cause trouble for a provider of affordable healthcare like Planned Parenthood? Who will take care of the babies if women don’t have “choice”?

“I waited for opportunities to respond as quietly and objectively as I could,” Joe said.

And then he talked about his daughter … her abortion, her resulting depression and the taking of her own life.

There was an instant change in the agitated woman.

“She was no longer angry with me,” he said. “She looked at me with compassion and hugged me. Said she gained a peace from me. She said she believes in a woman’s right to choose but now sees another side and will have a different opinion about us standing out there.

She took a gift bag and gave Joe her card.

“My dear God,” he thought, “only You could reach the heart of a very upset pro-choice person and compel her to hug a pro-lifer and accept a gift bag filled with alternatives to abortion!”

Wenatchee, Washington

“Planned Parenthood has quietly merged with four existing Family Planning clinics in Central Washington,” said Teresa in Wenatchee.

“This was just the incentive we needed,” she said, “the realization that Planned Parenthood had arrived in our town. We begged people to pray and sacrifice as never before, and to join us in a 24-hour vigil every day for 40 days.”

Teresa said the team especially invited men to participate – “to be the protectors of our community and to team up for prayer for each of those nighttime hours. The response has been truly humbling, and inspiring.”

One of these men was used to working the “graveyard” shift, and volunteered to do the whole campaign from 11 pm to 7 am.

“So with God,” Teresa said, “the impossible is happening! Wenatchee is praying up a storm, trusting that God will hear our prayers!”

Here's today's devotional from Georgette Forney, president of Anglicans for Life.

Day 22 intention

May those who hold life as trivial realize that we live because God wills it so.

Scripture

Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, in His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

— Job 12:9-10

Reflection from Georgette Forney

Job was a man acquainted with grief, trials and tribulation. He had everything taken from him, including his family. He endured sickness, ridicule and judgment from his friends. Everyone gave him advice about his situation, questioning his spirituality and his God.

Job's circumstances were bad but he never loses faith. Why? Because "the hand of the Lord has made all life." Created by God, he knows his life has meaning and purpose, regardless of the circumstances.

In our present culture, we've lost that basic truth; every life is made and allowed to live by God's sovereign authority. As people who pride ourselves on our independence, we have a hard time acknowledging our dependence on God.

From our creation, when we were knit together in our mother's womb to our last breath, God's word is clear that "in His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."

It's time for us as individuals, and as a society, to recognize that we exist by God's grace and turn back to Him, honoring His word and His teachings. Why? Because our world is full of Jobs, people who are dealing with trials and tribulations and hurting desperately.

Job's response should be ours as well. Regardless of what we face (even an unplanned pregnancy) God in His wisdom and mercy will redeem it.

How do I know? Job's friends who doubted God's sovereignty cry out to God asking for help, God instructs Job to pray for his friends and after he does, God restores all that Job had lost.

In other words, because Job never lost faith and knew and trusted His Creator, the Lord blessed Job.

Prayer

Thank you Father God for being the Creator of my life and every life. Please give me, and the society in which I live, an appreciation for your gift of life. Please help us set aside our pride and acknowledge that we need you.

Show me how I can honor you today in response to all the blessings you bestow so freely. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

From 40 Days For Life: DAY 21: Overcoming hostility

40 Days for Life
Dear Deacon John,

The secular media can be very skeptical of a 40 Days for Life campaign – especially when it’s going into a new country.

That was the case in Scotland, where the media labeled 40 Days for Life as “controversial U.S. style anti-abortion campaigning.” I know it’s a mouthful, but that’s what they came up with.

However, now that 40 Days for Life has been – as promised – peacefully carried out in Scotland over the past few weeks, the media has altered their tone ... and the vigil is getting results!

I know you’ll be inspired by the leaders in Scotland, where I visited earlier in the campaign.

They have overcome much adversity ... and they share their courage and enthusiasm with me and Robert Colquhoun, our international campaign director, in this podcast episode flavored with American, English and Scottish voices.

(If you haven’t done so already, please help spread the word about the 40 Days for Life podcast by rating and reviewing it on iTunes.)

Glasgow, Scotland

“We are gathering so many stories from people coming over to talk to us outside of the hospital,” said Rose in Glasgow. “It is very inspiring.”

This vigil takes place outside a brand new hospital that draws traffic from all parts of central Scotland.

“While it true to say that we have had the occasional aggressive comment,” she said, “we realise that behind such experiences often there is deep pain and so we continue to pray.”

One doctor told Rose that there were many conversations going on inside the hospital about 40 Days for Life. Patients looking out the window often see the volunteers praying in the cold and the rain.

“It rained practically non-stop for a full week,” she said, and people have offered them coffee, food – and even new umbrellas.

“Without exception, when we explain what the scale of the abortion crisis is in Scotland – 900 children dying each month – people are shocked and horrified,” Rose said.

“We ask them to reflect upon this information. It can truthfully be stated that 40 Days for Life in Scotland is helping to raise awareness about abortion.”

Nottingham, England

“The weather was foul,” said John in Nottingham. “Cold and very wet.”

Nonetheless, he said, a woman in her 80s arrived to pray around lunchtime. She had taken two buses from her home just to make it to the vigil – in spite of the rain – to support those who were praying on behalf of the babies.

“She needed physical support to stand with us,” John said, “but she prayed with us for an hour.”

Such signs of encouragement have become quite comforting in the wake of the verbal abuse hurled at the vigil participants – “mostly by random angry young men, unaware of the irony of using threatening language to say we are intimidating women, in front of women volunteers.”

There is also a feminist group orchestrating an online petition, complaining that the prayer teams are harassing patients, using verbal abuse, and causing vandalism. “And just in case you aren’t absolutely certain,” John added, “no, we haven’t done any of those things!”

The group received additional affirmation from a young man and woman who stopped by to talk to them – and thank them for being there.

She had been pregnant a while back and many people had tried to persuade her to have an abortion. Despite all the pressure, she had the baby.

“It was only a brief encounter,” said one of the volunteers, “but it left us smiling!”

Here's today's devotional from Carmen Pate of Alliance Ministries.

Day 21 intention

Pray that we each will daily put on the full armor of God, so that we are strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

Scripture

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand.

— Ephesians 6:12-13

Reflection from Carmen Pate

I am confounded to see how the battle over the issue of life is perceived more often in churches today as political rather than spiritual. Ironically, the enemy has used this twisted perception to silence many in the body of Christ.

We must see the battle for what it is and if we are to be prepared to face the spiritual enemy on the issue of abortion, we must daily "put on" the armor God has given us:

Gird your waist with Truth (vs. 14) -- Commit your emotions to believe truth and to speak truth, regardless of the repercussions.

Put on the breastplate of Righteousness (vs. 14) -It will protect our hearts -- the innermost springs of our beings -- from all unrighteousness so evident in this fallen world.

Shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace. (vs. 15) -- Preparation is vital if we are to be effective in God's work.

Taking the shield of faith (vs.16) -- The Accuser will instill doubt, fear, and guilt. Faith acts as an invisible shield that deflects such false accusations.

Taking the Helmet of salvation (vs.17) -- A helmet protects the head, the brain and in turn our mind and thoughts. Satan hopes we will set aside divine revelation for human reasoning.

Taking the sword of the Spirit (vs.17) -- The Word of God, the only offensive weapon in this armor, was used by the Lord Jesus against Satan. The living Word is powerful and effective.

Our armor is complete. We are ready to wage war, and the next verse tells us how, "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit." (vs.18)

Prayer

Dear Lord, as you lead us into the spiritual battle of abortion may we be reminded that the battle is truly Yours. We thank you for equipping us with Your armor. Lead us daily to put it on!

Thank you for allowing us to serve under your command, and for hearing our requests for direction and protection. Thank you for the victory that is ours because of Your Son, Jesus, Amen.

Two turnarounds at the abortion clinic

From http://cal-catholic.com/

Family Planning Associates, San Diego
Family Planning Associates, San Diego
The following comes from a February 27 email from Helpers of God’s Precious Infants San Diego:
Dear Pro-life friends,
Today was Day 18 of 40 Days for Life at Family Planning Associates on Miramar Road.  When we arrived about 7:30 am, there were already a half dozen yellow-shirt “patient escorts” in the parking lot.  Within a half-hour, the number had grown to about 15.  They were stationed throughout the lot in groups to keep an eye on the 8 sidewalk counselors.  Out on the sidewalk, there were between 30 and 40 prayer warriors, including a priest.
When we get a chance, we try to have a dialog with some of the yellow-shirts to see if we can get them to understand why we are here, and how devastating abortion is.  While one of the counselors was waiting about 10 feet away from a car with a couple who had not yet decided to get out, the counselor asked one of the yellow-shirts when they thought the unborn baby became a person.  He said “When they take their first breath”.  Another yellow-shirt nearby agreed.  The counselor asked, “What about the day before the baby is born?”  “Nope, not until its first breath”.  The counselor continued, “What if it is born a day early?”.  The yellow-shirt could see where the reasoning was going and did not want to talk further.  About 70% to 80% of the yellow-shirts are college students at UCSD and SDSU who sign up for a time commitment to be out here, and in return get community service hours.
One of the counselors approached two women who had parked in the east parking lot and were making their way to the elevator.  The counselor showed them a picture of a paramedic vehicle and firetruck parked in front of the clinic, and explained how a woman almost died a few months ago here.  One of the yellow-shirts chimed in that it wasn’t true, that the paramedics were just parking there in front of the furniture store.  The guard came up quickly and told the woman she did not have to listen to the counselor, and that she could escort the woman up.  Several other yellow-shirts were crowding around, saying similar things, and urging the woman to tell the counselor to go away.  The counselor said “This really did happen, I talked to the woman.  I care about you, please let me talk to you”.  The woman was getting nervous, and was paying attention to the counselor, who gave her some brochures and urged her to go the Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center, located next door to the abortion clinic.  The woman ignored the yellow-shirts and guard, took the information, and said “I’m leaving this place”.  They walked back to their car and drove away.
A short time later a man and woman pulled up into the parking lot near the front of the clinic.  Two counselors approached the car, one on the woman’s side and the other on the man’s side.  Immediately yellow shirts hovered over the woman interrupting the counselor.   While this was taking place, the other counselor handed the man a card with a prayer to end abortion.  The counselor asked the man to please pray for the women inside who were having abortions.  He hesitantly took the card and appeared a little upset.  The counselor tried to offer help but soon the yellow-shirts made their way over to him calling the counselor a protester, and said that he did not have to listen to the counselor.
The man told the counselor to leave him alone, yelling an obscenity.  He seemed visibly upset.  About thirty minutes later, which what not enough time to have anything done, the couple came out of FPA and left.  Another counselor was near them and saw that the woman was crying.  As they got into their car the first counselor tried to talk, but the man was not happy and again yelled an obscenity.  We don’t know why they left but from the tears of the woman, it would appear she might have had a change of heart.  We never know the power of prayer and what takes place in their hearts when they enter into FPA.   Please pray for this hurting couple.
