News release from Forty Days for Life, San Diego

“To offer thanksgiving and to point out the harm abortion has done to our city”

Closing rally planned to celebrate victories of San Diego County’s San Marcos and Miramar 40 Days for Life campaigns

SAN DIEGO – “As 40 days of prayer, fasting, vigil and outreach draw to a conclusion, we will be bringing pro-life members of the San Diego community together to reflect upon the blessings received during our 40 Days for Life campaign,” said Timmerie Millington, spokesperson for the San Diego 40 Days for Life campaigns. “We will meet at St. Therese of Carmel, 4355 Del Mar Trails Road in San Diego on October 27 at 6:30 p.m. to rejoice in the victories that God has accomplished.”

40 Days for Life is an intensive pro-life campaign that focuses on 40 days of prayer and fasting, 40 days of peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and 40 days of grassroots educational outreach. The 40-day timeframe is drawn from examples throughout Biblical history during which God brought about world-changing transformation in 40-day periods.

San Diego is one of the many communities that conducted simultaneous 40 Days for Life campaigns beginning September 22. The campaign ends October 31.

“We want to conclude this effort by sharing stories of what 40 Days for Life has meant for San Diego and to offer thanksgiving for this opportunity to point out the harm abortion has done to our city,” said Gene Villinski.

Speakers at the 40 Days for Life closing event include Shawn Carney, co-founder of 40 Days for Life, and Roger Lopez of Helpers of God’s Precious Infants.

“Though this rally may conclude 40 days of prayer and fasting and community outreach, and 40 days of continuous prayer outside two of the abortion facilities in San Diego, it only marks a beginning of renewed commitment to ending abortion in our community. We look forward to seeing what God has in store next for our city,” said Millington.
