| In an address to the Executive Committee of Christian Democrats International, Pope Benedict XVI explained that social justice links the spheres of economics and ethics. In the economic field, he said, we must always seek after the common good, especially in the current crisis. The teaching of the Council is always valid: the use of things must be ordered to the good of persons, and not vice versa.
