LifeNews Tells Girl Scouts: We Won’t Stop Reporting Your Link to Planned Parenthood Through our attorney, LifeNews has issued a response to Girl Scouts USA, which recently sent us an a letter attempting to intimidate LifeNews and pressure us to stop reporting on its links to the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
During the last two weeks, LifeNews has brought international attention to the link between the Girl Scouts and the Planned Parenthood abortion business and the national boycott of Girl Scouts cookies sponsored by pro-life groups. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/lifenews-tells-girl-scouts-we-wont-stop-reporting-your-link-to-planned-parenthood/
Teen Who Lost His Legs in Botched Abortion Makes State Wrestling ChampionshipsNik Hoot is quite the athlete. He’s a successful wrestler at a high school – a fact that would likely earn him news coverage anyway. But Nik has overcome the kind of obstacles very few encounter.

You see, Nik is a well-rounded athlete in spite of the fact that he is missing parts of both legs and doesn’t have a fully developed set of fingers. The Indiana teenager lives with these disabilities because his biological parents – an unknown couple from Russia – attempted to abort Nik. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/teen-who-lost-his-legs-in-botched-abortion-made-it-to-state-wrestling-championships/
Kevin Grow, an 18-Year-Old With Down Syndrome, Signs an NBA ContractKevin Grow may be just the ticket for the Philadelphia 76ers as they look to win games in the NBA this season. Grow, a high school senior with Down syndrome who lives in the Philadelphia area, signed a two-day contract with the team in a ceremony to encourage the young man.
ESPN has more on this kevingrowtouching story about a kid who shows what it means to truly celebrate life. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/kevin-grow-an-18-year-old-with-down-syndrome-signs-an-nba-contract/

She Was Conceived in Incest, Should She Have Been Killed in Abortion?
On a hot summer day in June of 2008 Kristi Hofferber decided it was time to talk to her adoptive parents about getting information about her birth parents. Kristi never felt the need to step back into her past, and always felt unsettled about it. But on this hot day in June 2008 she decided to go back in time and what she found out about her birth parents has become the biggest shock of her life.
Kristi was adopted at birth into a loving home and was raised in the Lutheran church. She grew up knowing she was adopted and was the only child for this young married couple out of Illinois. She was never sure why her birthmother placed her up for adoption and was never sure if she ever really wanted to know the reason why. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/she-was-conceived-in-incest-should-she-have-been-killed-in-abortion/

University of Alabama Apologizes for Denying Pro-Lifers’ Free Speech Yesterday, the University of Alabama apologized to the pro-life group on campus, Bama Students for Life, and reversed their decision after they removed Bama SFL’s approved student display on campus because an administrator deemed it “offensive.” The University stated that will allow Bama Students for Life to set up their pro-life display on campus once again.
Bama Students for Life and Students for Life of America thank the University of Alabama officials for rethinking their decision and allowing pro-life students to openly express their First Amendment and free speech rights on campus. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/university-of-alabama-apologizes-for-denying-pro-lifers-free-speech/
Father of Aborted Baby: I Never Got to See My Daughter or Hold Her in My ArmsI received an interesting email this morning, reminding me that we have new readers all the time. She began with a very nice expression of gratitude for the work of National Right to Life News Today and especially a post we’d written about women as the second victim of abortion.
Her very polite point was there are other victims of abortion, beginning with the baby’s father. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/father-of-aborted-baby-i-never-got-to-see-my-daughter-or-hold-her-in-my-arms/

Woman Defending Her Abortion: My Unborn Baby’s Soul Agreed to be KilledThere are many good reasons for pro-lifers of faith to familiarize themselves with secular reasoning against abortion. Christian pro-lifers often cite religious texts and doctrines to oppose abortion. And while “God hates abortion” may be a compelling argument for fellow Christians, we need to recognize that pro-choicers can use religion too. People’s interpretations of scripture differ, of course.
And apart from scripture, “my personal religious beliefs” can be manipulated by a creative person to justify practically anything.http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/woman-defending-her-abortion-my-unborn-babys-soul-agreed-to-be-killed/
With Abortion, There Are No Do-Overs The little backward arrow icon on my emails has become one of my best friends. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/with-abortion-there-are-no-do-overs/
Virginia Budget Would Stop McAuliffe From Undermining Pro-Life Laws The budget (HB 30) advanced by the House Appropriations Committee Sunday included several limitations on taxpayer funding of abortion, abortion providers and, maybe most importantly, on the governor’s office. For good reason. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/virginia-budget-would-stop-mcauliffe-from-undermining-pro-life-laws/
Irish Times Newspaper Bans Term “Pro-Life” The Irish Times, a daily Irish newspaper that claims an adult readership of more than 320,000 along with more than 3.6 million unique online users per month, has banned the term “pro-life” from its pages. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/irish-times-newspaper-bans-term-pro-life/

Pro-Life Film Festival Provides a Stark Contrast to Hollywood “Values” The pro-life movement has been embraced by every medium of communication and expression in the modern world, and its role in cinema is steadily increasing. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/pro-life-film-festival-provides-a-stark-contrast-to-hollywood-values/
Tennessee Abortions Drop 6% as Pro-Lifers Prepare for Statewide Abortion Battle With data sure to play a role in the debate over an amendment to the Tennessee state Constitution, figures from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) show that while the overall number of abortions has gone down in the state over the past decade, there’s been a steady increase in the percentage of out-of-state women having their abortions in Tennessee. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/tennessee-abortions-drop-6-as-pro-lifers-prepare-for-statewide-abortion-battle/
West Virginia House Panel Passes Bill Banning Abortions After 20 Weeks Unborn babies who are capable of feeling pain won a great victory in the West Virginia House of Delegates today. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/02/18/west-virginia-house-panel-passes-bill-banning-abortions-after-20-weeks/
