How a picture can save a life

Sign of hope from outside the abortion clinic

Our Lady of Guadalupe
The woman told the sidewalk counselor that she was a Christian, and she had been looking at the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe above them while she sat on the bench upstairs.

The following comes from a May 24 email from Helpers of God’s Precious Infants San Diego:
Dear Pro-life Friends,
At around 8:45 in the morning, a couple drove into the parking lot and parked, staying in their car for a few minutes. A counselor approached the vehicle. After motioning them to put down the window, they did so and listened to the counselor, who gave them information on the doctor, the danger of abortion, Culture of Life Family Services, etc.
The couple said they were not there for an abortion, but this seemed unlikely due to the fact that they were so open to listening and receiving the information. After talking for about 5 minutes with the couple, the counselor was interrupted by someone who doesn’t like us counseling there, and who spoke very loudly at the couple, saying that they did not need to listen to the counselor. The couple in the car were disturbed by this and within seconds, they rolled up the window and drove off. They did not return, and it is hoped that they will choose life and seek help and counsel at Culture of Life. Please keep this couple in your prayers!
A woman from the middle east in her mid-20’s was walking toward the clinic when a counselor approached her and tried to talk to her, but was interrupted by two women who wanted to encourage her to go upstairs for the abortion. She walked up into the clinic, but came out a while later and sat on a bench that is on the balcony, just outside the clinic.
The counselor, who now standing in the parking lot below, smiled up at her told her “You are not alone. I know you are scared. We all are sometimes. Listen to your heart”. The woman dropped her phone and bent down to retrieve it. The counselor said “Remember, nothing happens by accident, everything has a reason. Listen to your heart”.
The woman was sobbing, and came down a short while later. Another counselor approached her and asked her if she changed her mind. She said “Yes, I couldn’t do it”. She immediately walked out to the sidewalk below a large image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that was on a tree, and sat down with the prayer warriors to pray with them. She told one of them she was a Christian, and she had been looking at the image of the Virgin Mary above them, while she sat on the bench upstairs. She said she could not go through with the abortion.

Please pray for this woman that she will continue to choose life.
