Time to listen again to Mother Teresa's Speech: Whatsoever You Do…

September 2, 2016

As you know, Mother Teresa of Calcutta will be canonized this Sunday, September 4th. At www.PriestsForLife.org/MotherTeresa, you will find various resources and reflections on her life and example, as well as a special prayer in her honor.
She is a patron saint of the pro-life movement . You may want to spread far and wide this weekend these words that she spoke in DC at the National Prayer Breakfast in 1994:
"[T]he greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?  Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion."
I visited with her a few months after this speech to discuss pro-life strategy, and she asked me to distribute her speech to our fellow Americans. I've been doing it ever since and have just had it reprinted.  You can order your copy today and you can also view a video of her speech at PriestsForLife.org/MotherTeresa.
This Sunday morning, the words above will be quoted in an op-ed of mine that will be published online by USA Today.
I also pass along to you these words that Mother Teresa wrote to me: "I hope that many priests and deacons will join Priests for Life…to stop the terrible war against unborn children." May it be so!
Blessings,
Fr. Frank Pavone
National Director
