From 40 Days For Life: DAY 34: 13,000 saved!

Deacon John, With just a week to go in this 40 Days for Life campaign, we bring you good news … … 362 babies have been spared from abortion (that we know of)! Not only that … the total number of children saved since 40 Days for Life started as a coordinated campaign in 2007 has now reached more than 13,000! Praise God for what He has done!

Mobile, Alabama “We have our first confirmed save of this campaign,” said one of the 40 Days for Life team members in Mobile. The volunteers met a young woman who was on the sidewalk outside Planned Parenthood at the end of the day … and she told them she had chosen life for her baby. She was given information about local resources and invited to get back in touch with the vigil participants if she needs additional help. “She was very happy!” the volunteer said. “That's why we are there on that sidewalk … please pray for her and her baby.”

Springfield, Massachusetts A young mother of four children – pregnant with her fifth – was on her way towards Planned Parenthood when she approached two vigil participants … and noted the scripture verse on their signs. “According to one of the counselors,” said Tim in Springfield, “she appeared conflicted about what to do. She said she was scared and worried. She knew abortion was wrong … but she did not know what else to do.” The counselor reminded her of God’s love – and that God would never abandon her, especially when she needs Him most. In addition, the nearby pregnancy help center would assist her – free of charge – both before and after her child’s birth. “With contact info in hand and thanking the counselors for their help,” Tim said, “she turned around and walked the other way. Praise God!”

Atlanta, Georgia “A young couple stopped to receive literature after the pregnant mom spotted my sign showing a baby at seven weeks,” said one of the Atlanta volunteers. The 40 Days for Life vigil participant told her about the free help that’s available … and a security guard hurried over to interrupt the conversation. The young woman told the guard there was no problem … accepted additional pregnancy help information … and said “God bless you!” to both the volunteer and the guard as she and her friend drove away. “Please pray she calls the helpline and gets all the help she needs,” said the vigil participant. “Please also pray for the guard to have a change of heart.”
