Across the country, thousands of young people are being permanently marked by physical and psychological damage after attempting to "transition" to the opposite gender. In fact, some are now expressing deep regret, and their stories are coming to light. Though they may reclaim their names, pronouns, and passports, surgeries removing healthy organs cannot be reversed. Christians must give up the dangerous position of neutrality on this issue.

Forced birth argument falls short

Abortion proponents often employ euphemisms such as forced birth. But missing from this argument is any recognition that a moral relationship between mother and child already exists by the time a woman is contemplating an abortion. Some women perceive pregnancy as a burden, and it may even entail serious physical costs. But that doesn't justify the intentional killing of another innocent person—and not just any innocent person, but the woman's own child.

Happy the elephant is not a person

Happy the elephant, a long-time resident of the Bronx Zoo, can remain there after the New York Court of Appeals ruled she is not legally a person. The court ruled to reject the claim by the Nonhuman Rights Project—whose goal is for some animals to be recognized as persons before the law—that Happy was being illegally confined. While acknowledging the “impressive capabilities of elephants,” the court declared that they are not entitled to the same liberty rights as humans.

What's next for the pro-life movement?

Last week, the pro-life movement celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade. But now we must consider, where do we go from here? 

While certainly a victory, the decision did not end abortion in America. We need to act quickly and accept nothing less than the protection of every human being from conception.
