40 Days For Life: DAY 23: Teaching Gavin Newsom a Lesson

Gov. Gavin Newsom, who made California an abortion "sanctuary," is finding out abortion funding and pro-abortion legislation don't matter when peaceful prayer moves an abortion-bound woman's heart...

...and mounting evidence indicates the number of babies saved by 40 Days for Life vigils is MUCH higher than the 25,386 we know of.

Vigil participants in Thousand Oaks, California, rarely see their prayers save a baby. But every month, a local pregnancy help center reports moms opting against abortion because they encountered 40 Days for Life volunteers.

Two women recently chose life in response to the vigil in "dramatic, inspiring saves" we ONLY learned of thanks to the pregnancy center!

The Thousand Oaks team has been praying in the rain, but moved a campaign rally indoors for a visit from former abortion provider Dr. Haywood Robinson.

It's been an eventful campaign in Thousand Oaks, where Leonore said that FIVE different non-abortion customers reported being disturbed by the experience of sharing a waiting room with abortion clients.

"It's awful in there," one woman told her. "Thank you for doing this."

The creepy waiting room is tragic and devastating--but it has created opportunities for Leonore and her team to redirect Planned Parenthood patrons to health care providers that don't kill babies.

San Luis Obispo, California

Dr. Robinson's tour of Golden State 40 Days for Life vigils began in San Luis Obispo--at a Planned Parenthood abortion facility previously owned by a pediatrician!

Perhaps God will use the prayers of the vigil participants to restore the facility's legacy of healing children, rather than killing them.

About 50 people attended the San Luis Obispo rally, where Dr. Robinson shared his personal testimony of conversion and exhorted prayer warriors to keep going!

Ventura, California

The 40 Days for Life team in Ventura has a long tradition of participation by students at nearby Thomas Aquinas College.

The student involvement is a plea for God to save the lives of unborn children--and a tribute to former student Angela Baird, who began organizing prayer vigils at the Ventura Planned Parenthood a decade before the 40 Days for Life movement went national.

A devastating hiking accident fatally injured Angela. As she lay dying on the side of a mountain, she urged her classmates to pray "for aborted babies."

The students at Thomas Aquinas College have been faithfully honoring that request for nearly 30 years.

They woke him and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?"

--Mark 4:38

Dear Lord, I know that you are always with me and that you work all things for good. When the truth of your perpetual presence is difficult to grasp, give me the grace to remember that you are a good and gracious father in every circumstance. Help us to speak this truth to those around us. In a special way, we ask you to wrap mothers who feel abandoned in your mantle. Amen.

For life,
