A Sinister Revolution is Taking Place!

A Sinister Revolution is Taking Place!

Dear Friends,

If St. Joan of Arc were alive today, I’m certain she would be leading a march on the French Parliament in Paris and demanding that they immediately remove from public office all destroyers of human life and restore the Eldest Daughter of the Church to her rightful position as the world’s preeminent Catholic country—and I would be right behind her.

Joan would weep bitterly to see that the country she gave her life to save had so drastically apostatized from the Catholic faith. Her countrymen’s most recent crime against humanity is the approval of euthanasia in their land. This heinous measure adds to the list of rejections of the fundamental laws of God that France has codified into law recently, particularly

  • the constitutional protection of abortion, passed last year, and
  • the approval of same sex marriage in 2013, just to name the worst.

And don’t forget the blasphemous parody of the Eucharist that France displayed before the world at the Summer Olympics just two years ago.

In the current situation, on July 14th, the French National Assembly voted 291-241 to pass a “right to die” bill that effectively legalizes assisted suicide and euthanasia in the country. Note that the 14th of July is the infamous “Bastille Day” celebration which marks the beginning of the satanic French Revolution.

And is if to slap the native population in the face, the bill allows only French citizens and permanent residents to kill themselves. This will undoubtedly make room for more immigrants because, apparently, France doesn’t yet have enough non-Christians to replace their population.

Euthanasia activists have been pushing French legislators to legalize the so-called “right to die” legislation for years, and three separate times the French Senate rejected the measure. Finally, the activists found a loophole in the law which allows them to work around the obstinate Senate and pass the law without Senate approval.

The provisions of the bill are typical deceptive bait-and-switch tactics that promise “safeguards” against abuses while setting up a concentration camp-style system within the medical community that allows people to “shop” for sympathetic medical personnel who will administer the drugs without conscience or penalty.

Patients must have a “terminal” designation in order to qualify for euthanasia, but the ambiguous language of the bill opens the way for people to kill themselves—or be killed—for a whole host of reasons. The same tactic was used in our own Roe v Wade fiasco in 1973 and by every abortion promoter worldwide since the sixties. All they need to do is to pass a law with deceptive language, and it becomes open season on the weak and the vulnerable.

None of this should be surprising. It is commonly said that nature abhors a vacuum, but it’s also true that spiritual nature abhors a vacuum as well. When the spiritual integrity of Christ’s True Church and religious culture recedes, the vacuum created by the departure of spiritual authority allows every kind of evil spirit to enter.

One frightening statistic shows this spiritual vacuum with utmost clarity. In 1960 France had 63,000 Catholic priests. Today there are less than 7,000 active priests in France and a third of them are foreign-born. At least three dioceses in France have not ordained a single priest in more than a dozen years and numerous others that have ordained only three or fewer priests in more than a decade.

Thankfully, the Bishops’ Conference of France has been forceful in opposing these euthanasia initiatives over the years, but it is not clear what canonical penalties they will apply to complicit Catholic parliamentarians, if any. We hope and pray for a show of spiritual leadership following this national disgrace.

One bright light, Bishop Marc Aillet of the Diocese of Bayonne, made it clear ahead of the vote that Catholics would be ineligible to receive Communion if they voted in favor of the measure. He noted that this is not just a matter of religious doctrine but touches on the very natural law that God has given to the world, which applies to all people regardless of nation or creed. He is not alone in this position and many faithful French citizens decry this aberration also.

Like their deceptive spiritual counterparts, however, the destroyers of Catholic culture never sleep. They do everything in their power to erode the foundations of Christian society, and they never stop until they get their way. Nothing could be a better illustration of the culture of death than the way they acted in this circumstance.

France, and the Western world in general, needs another Joan of Arc to arise and vanquish these great evils.

And here’s another irony. On the day before the euthanasia vote, the mighty French soccer team got shut out in a 0-2 loss to Spain in the World Cup. It’s hard to see this as anything other than symbolic of France’s overall degradation as a Catholic country.

But as Joan of Arc would remind us all, the loss of a soccer match is far less costly than the loss of a nation’s soul.

Yours in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
