FROM THE THOMAS MORE LAW CENTER:

Tuesday, April 22, 2008

General - Eagle Forum 3ANN ARBOR, MI – Last Thursday, the Eagle Forum of Michigan hosted an evening with its Founder, Phyllis Schlafly, and Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center.

A leader of the pro-family movement since founding the Eagle Forum in 1972, Ms. Schlafly is the author of 20 books and an icon of the women's conservative movement.  At the event, Ms. Schlafly described how an uncontrolled judiciary is undermining our constitution and culture. She spoke to specific instances of the courts inventing rights, such as the rights to abortion, same-sex marriage, and pornography.

Richard Thompson spoke about the threat of radical Islam, as well as the influence of radical homosexual advocacy groups in our pubic schools.  Said Thompson, "Despite their relatively small numbers, radical homosexuals wield enormous power.  They dominate our cultural elite, Hollywood, the television industry, the mainstream news media, academia, public schools, the legal community, and a significant portion of the judiciary."
