ACTION ALERT!

Visit Your Senator and Oppose Sebelius!

Last week we told you that Senate had temporarily delayed a vote on Kathleen Sebelius' nomination to be Secretary of Health and Human Services.

We must take advantage of this extra time to continue to put pressure on your Senators to oppose Kathleen Sebelius' nomination. As Secretary of Health and Human Services she will oversee the regulation of abortion providers, the allocation of federal funds to abortion providers, and the elimination of important conscience regulations which protect pro-life health care workers.

From now through April 19th, the Senate is in recess, which means your Senators are in your state. This is a great opportunity to meet with your Senators and tell them personally to oppose Kathleen Sebelius.

1.    Visit your Senators' website. You can find a Senate directory here.

2.    Call both of your Senators' state offices and ask for an appointment to meet with them over the Easter Recess.

3.    At the meeting, respectfully express your reasons for opposing Kathleen Sebelius as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Be sure to tell them about her record:

As governor, Sebelius vetoed the Comprehensive Abortion Reform Act, legislation to implement restrictions on late-term abortion procedures.

- She vetoed commonsense parental notification measures in Kansas.

- Sebelius vetoed legislation to crack down on appalling conditions in certain abortion clinics, including one in which fetal remains were stored in the same refrigerator as food.

- She even held a reception in the gubernatorial mansion honoring abortionist George Tiller.

-Her record on abortion does not reflect the common ground that President Obama campaigned on.

- Remember to tell your Senators or their staff that as Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius will be overseeing many programs like the regulation of abortion providers, federal funding for abortion providers, and important conscience protections for health care workers.

4. If you are unable to schedule a meeting, leave the same message with your Senators' staff and ask that the message be passed along.
