News from the Trenches

Sacramento Bishop Jaime Soto is scheduled to lead a Saturday, April 25, Rosary Procession to South Sacramento Planned Parenthood on Franklin Boulevard.

According to an announcement posted on the diocesan website, the bishop will be joining the Helpers of God's Precious Infants apostolate “in praying for an end to abortion and the conversion of our nation.”

“Helpers of God's Precious Infants invite the community to participate in our Helpers' Prayer Vigil for Life on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in reparation for the tragedy of abortion taking place in our local neighborhoods,” says the group’s website. “The Helpers Prayer Vigil for Life begins with an 8:00 a.m. Holy Mass at All Hallows Church at 5501 14th Ave. in Sacramento, followed by Benediction and a Holy Rosary Procession led by Bishop Jaime Soto from the Monsignor Kavanagh Community Center (5905 Franklin Blvd.) to Planned Parenthood (5385 Franklin Blvd.).”

Sponsors of the event ask that participants enter the gates of the community center, park and assemble in front of the building while “remaining in silence.”
