Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

A Christmas Story
A Christmas Story
We would like to tell you about a beautiful experience we had the other day at Mary's Shelter, but first, let us back up to Sunday, December 11th, when our residents were treated to a Day of Beauty.
Hair stylists from Winning Image Hair Salon in Garrisonville, a Mary Kay make-up consultant, a photographer, babysitters, and various other volunteers descended upon the shelter and set up a beauty salon. Our residents were treated to professional hair-cuts, make-up, and photography sessions while being served drinks and snacks. It was an amazing day. Our residents emerged from the session feeling rejuvenated, beautiful, and loved. The volunteers left feeling blessed that they were able to make a difference in someone's life.
But that's not all this wonderful group did. They shared their experience at Mary's Shelter with their clients and co-workers at the hair salon and were able to collect enough donations to buy gifts for every mother and child at the shelter. The Mary Kay consultant put together customized gift bags of make-up and skin care products for every mother. They also put together a Spiritual gift bag for each mother which included a baby Bible and journal. When they came to deliver the gifts the other day, the amount of beautifully wrapped packages and bags was astounding.
Our ladies are so blessed to have been adopted by such caring people. We at Mary's Shelter continue to be amazed by the generous spirit of this community. You have always supported us and when we ask for help, you are there to give it. This Christmas, we would like to say thank you for allowing Mary's Shelter to be a part of your life. Our residents and their children are so grateful.
We would like to leave you with the best Christmas gift we can think of - the gift of life.
Because of your support, these beautiful babies were given the chance to be brought safely into the world. Without you, these three little blessings might not be here with us this Christmas.
Introducing Baby Robert, born November 30th.
Introducing Baby Zion, born December 1st.
Introducing baby Zoey, born December 9th.
This story is just one of many beautiful Christmas stories that have blessed the mothers and children at Mary's Shelter. We have so many generous groups and individuals to thank, and we look forward to sharing more Christmas stories and pictures with you in our next newsletter.
