Just 36% Back Obamacare as Supreme Court Review Begins
Just 36 percent of Americans back Obamacare, which is opposed by pro-life groups because it funds abortions and prompts rationing concerns, as the Supreme Court begins reviewing the controversial law this week.

A new New York Times/CBS News poll shows 47 percent of Americans disapprove of the president s Affordable Care Act, including 30 percent who strongly disapprove while just 36 percent of those questioned said they support the law either somewhat or strongly.

Since the health care law was passed in March 2010, more have disapproved than approved of it. The highest level of support was reached in May 2010 when 43percent of Americans approved of the law; its lowest level was just after it was passed in March 2010, when only 32 percent supported it, CBS reported. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/26/just-36-back-obamacare-as-supreme-court-review-begins/

Supreme Court and Obamacare: Day One of the Hearings
The Supreme Court this week will take on the Obamacare health care law opposed by pro-life groups because it funds abortions and prompts rationing concerns. The Court will hear a total of six hours worth of oral argument over the next three days considering various issues brought up in the lawsuits against it.

Edward White, a pro-life attorney with the ACLJ, outlined what the Supreme Court considered today, on the first day of the hearings. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/26/supreme-court-and-obamacare-day-one-of-the-hearings/

More Than 54,000 Rally Against Obama HHS Mandate on Friday
More than 54,000 pro-life advocates joined more than 140 rallies across the nation on Friday to rally for religious freedom and against the controversial Obama HHS mandate that requires religious groups to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions.

Eric Scheidler, the director of the Pro-Life Action League and co-coordinator of the Stand Up for Religious Freedom rallies, said he was encouraged by both the number of participants and the high number of cities taking part in the event.

When my Rally co-director Monica Miller and I originally conceived the Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally, I was hoping for 50 cities to sign on. Monica, more optimistically, hoped for 100, he said. We launched the project with 30 cities, which quickly grew to 50, then 80, then 100. In the final week before the Rally, we topped 140, with cities coming on board up to the last minute. The final tally was 143 cities from Portland, Maine to Honolulu, Hawaii. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/26/more-than-54000-rally-against-obama-hhs-mandate-on-friday/

October Baby Pro-Life Movie Makes Top 10 in Opening Weekend
After a resounding success in a limited release, October Baby premiered nationally on Friday. The movie has received strong support from the pro-life community drawing rave reviews and it received strong support form the public despite the premier of other top films

Although much of the media focus for the weekend centered on the premier of The Hunger Games and second week of 21 Jump Street, October Baby cracked the top 10 in its first full weekend of release. The pro-life movie received about $1.7 million on only 390 screens for a ninth place finish, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. Had the movie been screened in more locations, it would have done better as evidenced by its $4,405 per screen haul, the third highest screen average of the weekend. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/26/october-baby-pro-life-movie-makes-top-10-in-opening-weekend/

496 Babies Saved From Abortion in Latest 40 Days for Life
Here we are the final Monday of this 40 Days for Life campaign. And the stories of God s miracles keep rolling in! In the first 33 days of prayer and fasting, there have been 496 babies saved from abortion that we know of!

Legislator Attacks Pro-Life Women as Men With Breasts
Pennsylvania State Rep. Babette Josephs, a Philadelphia Democrat, may have reached a new low in political discourse on the issues of abortion. Upset that pro-life women in the state legislature support a bill allowing women a chance to see an ultrasound of their unborn child before an abortion, she referred to them as men with breasts.

As the Patriot-News reports:

During her remarks, she blasted women lawmakers who co-sponsored the ultrasound bill, asking rhetorically, What are they? Women, or are they men with breasts? according to supporters of the bill who watched the rally. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/26/legislator-attacks-pro-life-women-as-men-with-breasts/

Exit Polls Continue Showing Republicans Strongly Pro-Life
When voters in Louisiana went to the polls on Saturday to make a selection for the Republican nomination for president, voters kept up a trend in the 2012 GOP primary showing they are strongly pro-life.

While most voters are focused on the lack of jobs and the troubled economy as the number one issue, abortion is still prominent on the minds of many Republican voters and 13 percent of Louisiana Republicans voting Saturday said abortion is their top issue on which they made a decision for a GOP nominee.

That was on track with Michigan, which voted in February and in which 14 percent said abortion was their top consideration and 59 percent of Republicans said abortions should always or almost always be illegal while just 37 percent said they should be legal. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/26/exit-polls-continue-showing-republicans-strongly-pro-life/
