CMMB: Your Weekly Reflection in Prayer: The Good Shepherd

Weekly prayer reflection

"I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for His sheep."

John 10:11
April 29, 2012
4th Sunday of Easter - Good Shepherd Sunday
Dear John,
Catholic Medical Mission Board celebrates 100 Years of Healing and Hope.   Might we not say that for one century, CMMB has been continuing the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd?
As the Good Shepherd has a special love for His weak, as the Good Shepherd seeks out His lost, so CMMB has shown extraordinary concern for the sick and the suffering in Haiti and Honduras, in South Africa, and in Kenya. It has linked the resources of the powerful to the needs of the neglected and powerless.
Everyone involved with CMMB, staff, workers, doctors, volunteers, private and institutional donors, might take a moment to thank God for the joy and privilege of carrying on the work of the Good Shepherd.

Grant us grace, O Lord, not to pass by suffering or joy without eyes to see. Give us understanding and sympathy, guard us from selfishness, that we may enter into the joys and sufferings of others. Use us to gladden and strengthen those who are weak and suffering; that by our lives we may help others to believe and serve You, and shed forth Your light which is the light of life.
Amen
