From 40 Days For Life: DAY 13: “We just had a save!”

The joyful announcement that a mom has rejected abortion at the last minute keeps ringing out at 40 Days for Life vigils around the world!
Local campaign leaders tell us that so far, since Day 1 on September 27, they can report …
112 babies saved – that we know of!
Thanks be to God!
Here are just a few of the stories behind the numbers.

Austin, Texas

"We just had a save!" was the good news from one of the 40 Days for Life volunteers in Austin.
While vigil participants were praying in front of the abortion center, a woman arrived and went inside. After she'd been there for about an hour, she came back out and left in a taxi.
But as they reached the end of the driveway, the taxi stopped and the woman rolled down the window.
The volunteers were about to ask her which brochure she needed, but she stopped them short. "Just give them all to me," she said. "I've decided I'm not going to go through the abortion!"
What made the difference? Well, she had seen the people praying – and one in person in particular had caught her eye.
The young woman told them, "Your prayers are working!"

Downey, California

"We have good news today!" said Patti in Downey.
It was a chemical abortion day at the facility where this 40 Days for Life vigil takes place.
"Two couples left Family Planning Associates, and indicated they were happy and not getting an abortion," Patti said. "Praise God!"
The day before was a surgical abortion day – quite a different scene around the building. Abortion days bring out about a dozen pro-abortion escorts. Still, the volunteers watched as two couples, who had only been inside for a short time, quickly left the facility.
"We hope they changed their minds," Patti said, though she was not able to find out for sure.
"May there be thousands more lives spared through all the prayer and sacrifices of everyone in 40 Days for Life!"

Atlanta, Georgia

At the 40 Days for Life vigil in Atlanta, one of the volunteers offered information about post-abortion healing to a man and woman driving out of the abortion center's parking lot.
But the driver said, "No – she doesn’t need it!"
The vigil participant suggested that it was important, since it included information about free counseling.
But again, the driver said there was no need. "We didn't get an abortion!"
The volunteer quickly asked, "Did she change her mind?"
The driver flashed a huge smile and said, "Yes!"
"Hopefully this was a family spared the tragedy of abortion," said one of the Atlanta team members. "Thanks to those who were able to come out and pray – or who prayed from home!"

A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation.
Psalm 68:5
Heavenly Father, we thank you for caring about each of us so deeply. Help us to see and know you as our Father in heaven each and every day of our lives. Your loving hand also rests on every child today carried in its mother’s womb. May they be born into this world and come to know fully and personally your endless love.
