I just returned from Florida and am soon leaving for California. I was interviewed by MSNBC, which came out to a 40 Days for Life vigil (stay tuned for air times).

MSNBC has never covered a 40 Days for Life vigil, but pro-life grassroots efforts are gaining and will continue to gain attention with the passing of Justice Ginsburg.

On this week's episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast, 40 Days for Life General Counsel Matt Britton joins us to discuss:

  • How the "Notorious RBG" became an icon--for all the wrong reasons

  • Why this nomination is crucial for all who care about the unborn

  • The possible nominees and the obstacles in their way

Listen in by visiting:

And then sign up to pray at your local vigil: 40daysforlife.com/location

40 Days for Life kickoff events continue all week in cities around the world.

Southwest Florida

A huge crowd of over 200 pro-lifers came out to the Planned Parenthood in Fort Myers. A wonderful couple, Rick and Paula, have led the campaign for 10 years! The Community Pregnancy Clinic parks a medical bus across the street from Planned Parenthood.

I also went to Sarasota, where the highlight was meeting a mom who chose life and now participates in 40 Days for Life outside the massive Planned Parenthood there!

The local leader, Rich, challenged volunteers to pray for the CEO of that Planned Parenthood. The Community Pregnancy Clinic also has a location next door to Planned Parenthood in Sarasota!

Novi Sad, Serbia

The Novi Sad team hosted a robust kickoff event at the local Franciscan monastery. The event featured prayer, Scripture reading, and a powerful call to action.

"The audience was attentive and contemplative," reported Nikoleta, the local leader. "We could see upon their faces the willingness to speak frankly about such a difficult and often taboo topic."

Even after the event ended, participants lingered. "The people did not immediately disperse, but rather they grouped together to reflect on what they heard," Nikoleta continued. "For some this was the first time they have felt called to action for the defense of life."

Honolulu, Hawaii

Hawaii remains under some of the strictest pandemic lockdowns in the U.S.

That hasn't phased the Honolulu 40 Days for Life team, which is simply limiting the size of prayer gatherings.

"Praying for our shutdown to end so we can have more folks praying!" said Anne from Honolulu's leadership team.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

—Matthew 6:25-26

Loving heavenly Father, help us to see the worth of all human beings by the way in which you provide for us. We would ask that you provide also the faith, grace and courage to enable us to protect that which is so precious to you.
