Operation Rescue: Hundreds Pray & March Against Carhart’s Late-term Abortions In Maryland

Germantown, Maryland — Hundreds of pro-life supporters turned out to a Saturday evening rally and a Saturday Prayer March to show opposition to LeRoy Carhart’s late-term abortion business in Germantown, Maryland.

Saturday evening pro-life leaders from around the country addressed over 200 people. Operation Rescue President shared with the gathering and also presented a ceremonial check for $25,000 to Kim Nichols, the first award in OR’s Abortion Whistleblowers Program that rewards information leading to the arrest and conviction of abortionists who are breaking the law. Ms. Nichols provided critical information that led to the conviction of abortionist Rapin Osathanondh on the charge of manslaughter for his criminal treatment of Laura Hope Smith, who died at his hand in 2007 during a botched abortion. Accepting the check on behalf of Ms. Nichols was Brandi Swindell of Generation Life.

On Sunday, over 700 pro-lifers braved freezing temperatures to conduct a peaceful prayer march around Carhart’s Germantown, Maryland, late-term abortion mill. It was the largest crowd of pro-lifers yet to protest there. Previous protests gathered over 600 pro-lifers at each of two other major protests.
Monday, January 24, concludes Roe v. Wade events in Washington, DC, with a Youth Rally at the Washington Monument, a protest at Washington DC’s Planned Parenthood, where there was an unsuccessful attempt to ban free speech, and the March for Life.
