Abortion Activist Nancy Keenan, Barney Frank Join DNC Platform Cmte
Pro-abortion activist Nancy Keenan and Barney Frank, the longtime pro-abortion member of Congress from Massachusetts are two of the members of the Democratic Party s platform committee that will meet in August.

Keenan, who recently announced she will leave her post as the head of the pro-abortion group NARAL, will ensure the DNC platform stays fully supportive of abortion on demand and paid for at taxpayer expense. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/abortion-activist-nancy-keenan-barney-frank-join-dnc-platform-cmte/

Judge Dismisses Second Lawsuit Against Obama HHS Mandate
A federal judge has dismissed another lawsuit filed against the Obama HHS mandate that forces religious groups to pay for or refer women for abortion-causing drugs and birth control. This comes after another federal judge tossed another lawsuit earlier this week.

In this second case, Judge James E. Boasberg of the D.C. Federal Court threw out the lawsuit Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina, the first plaintiff to file suit against the mandate, filed earlier this year. Judge Boasberg said he dismissed the lawsuit because the Obama administration is revising the initial rule it release forcing religious groups to pay for the drugs that violate their conscience and beliefs. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/judge-dismisses-second-lawsuit-against-obama-hhs-mandate/

Pro-Abortion Catholics United Runs Misleading Attack on Romney
A so-called Catholic group that upset Catholics during the 2008 presidential elections by covering up Barack Obama s pro-abortion views and record is back this time around and has launched a misleading attack on GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Catholics United is attacking Romney over false reports appearing on left-wing blogs claiming Romney profited from owning a company while he was at Bain Capital that has more recently become involved in processing waste disposal for abortion facilities. As LifeNews has reported, Romney had left Bain Capital and Bain Capital had divested itself from the company, Stericycle, by the time it started working with abortion businesses. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/pro-abortion-catholics-united-runs-misleading-attack-on-romney/

Top Democrat: Electing Women Only Good if They Back Obama Mandate
The nation s top Democrat made it clear at a left-wing event for women that electing women to public office is only a good thing is they subscribe to the liberal dogma that advances abortion and birth control.

Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Florida congresswoman, spoke at the Women 2020 this week and said the focus shouldn t be electing women to Congress but only supporting women political candidates who support ensuring access to birth control. The comment is a clear reference to the national debate over the Obama HHS mandate that forces religious groups to pay for and refer women for abortion-causing drugs and birth control in violation of their religious beliefs. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/top-democrat-electing-women-only-good-if-they-back-obama-mandate/

40 Days for Life Founder Meets Baby Saved From Abortion
Millions of people who are pro-life often wonder whether the things they do to foster protection for unborn children ever pay dividends. Shawn Carney, the founder and campaign director for 40 Days for Life got to experience that joy first-hand when he met a baby whose live had been saved because of the national pro-life prayer event.

Why bring 40 Days for Life to your city? To save lives, he said. Not long ago, our local campaign leader in a suburb of Los Angeles let us know that the abortion facility where she had conducted five 40 Days for Life campaigns had closed down and gone out of business. Praise God. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/40-days-for-life-founder-meets-baby-saved-from-abortion/

Church of Scientology Reportedly Forced Women to Have Abortions
The controversial Church of Scientology is coming under criticism from multiple women who all say they were forced to have abortions. The Church has been a source of debate since its founding by American science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard.

Adding to the debate, the Church of Scientology is now facing accusations from scores of women who say they are been pressured or coerced into having abortions against their will and Laura DeCrescenzo, a New Mexico resident, is leading the way with a lawsuit against the Church. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/church-of-scientology-reportedly-forced-women-to-have-abortions/

Scalia Schools Piers Morgan: Abortion Not in the Constitution
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia schooled CNN host Piers Morgan during an interview last night on a host of subjects, including abortion. during the interview, Justice Scalia explained to Morgan how the Constitution does not include a right to abortion.

Scalia says the theory of substantive due process in the Roe v. Wade decision makes no legal sense.

Democrats Forced to Apologize for Making Fun of MS Patient Ann Romney
The Democratic Party has egg on its face today after being forced to apologize for running a campaign ad that essentially made fun of a patient with multiple sclerosis, the wife of presidential candidate Mitt Romney. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/democrats-forced-to-apologize-for-making-fun-of-ms-patient-ann-romney/

Pro-Lifers are Hostile for Wanting to Protect Babies?
I remember being very impressed when I read this line in Love s Labor: Essays on Women, Equality and Dependency, authored by feminist ethicist Eva Feder Kittay. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/pro-lifers-are-hostile-for-wanting-to-protect-babies/

British Women Abort 123 IVF Babies Diagnosed With Down Syndrome
The Daily Mail had sad news to report this week. The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority found that over the last five years, 123 IVF babies were aborted because the baby was found to have Down syndrome. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/british-women-abort-123-ivf-babies-diagnosed-with-down-syndrome/

14% of All Dutch Deaths Involve Euthanasia, Assisted Suicide
I grow weary of the continual attempts to spin and cover up the depth of the death culture of the Netherlands. For example, recently, articles have celebrated the official 2.8% euthanasia rate. But that doesn t include assisted suicide (0.2) and the fact that 23% of euthanasia deaths are unreported. So, that brings the official count to about 3.5%. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/14-of-all-dutch-deaths-involve-euthanasia-assisted-suicide/

Texas Monthly Launches False, Misleading Attack on Pro-Life Group
Texas Monthly went beyond the pale yesterday by printing 15 pages of straight-out lies in order to paint Pro-Lifers as anti-woman. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/texas-monthly-launches-false-misleading-attack-on-pro-life-group/

Project Rachel Post-Abortion Help Program Goes to Latin America
The first Latin American training program of Project Rachel (a ministry of the Catholic Church for reconciliation and post-abortion healing) took place in Cuenca, Ecuador June 26-28, 2012. The event was very successful, and promises a new area of focus for the pro-life movement in Latin America. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/project-rachel-post-abortion-help-program-goes-to-latin-america/

India Cracks Down on Sex-Selection Testing, Not Sex-Selection Abortions
Just another indication of how abortion has turned the world upside down. India is cracking down on doctors that tell parents the sex of their baby. Charges have been brought and a handful of doctors have been suspended for determining the sex of a fetus and disclosing that information to the parents, which is illegal in India. Catholic World News reports. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/india-cracks-down-on-sex-selection-testing-not-sex-selection-abortions/

Pregnancy Center Coming to Most Downtrodden Part of Austin, Texas
The east side of Interstate 35 in Austin, Texas is the part of town you typically avoid after dark. The intersection of 12th Street and Chicon is known to be one of the most crime-ridden corners of the city, where drug-dealing and prostitution are rampant. Debi Wehmeier will bring a message of hope to that area of Austin on September 9, 2012. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/07/19/pregnancy-center-coming-to-most-downtrodden-part-of-austin-texas/
