The House State Affairs Committee last night passed a pro-life bill to ban abortions in the state after 20 weeks of pregnancy and hold abortion facilities accountable for obeying health and safety laws.
The last attempt to pass the bill was halted in the state Senate with a pro-abortion filibuster but state Sen. Wendy Davis says she will not filibuster the bill a second time.
The protesters at the Texas capitol have already exploited children by making them hold signs supporting their protest against a ban on late-term abortions. Today the Internet is abuzz with shock and disgust over another sign, along with a video showing abortion activists chanting Hail Satan.

The House vote for the bill broke down on mostly partisan lines with Republicans supporting the ban on late-term abortions and Democrats opposing it. The House approved the bill on a 228-196 vote with 6 Democrats voting for the bill and 6 Republicans voting against it. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/

During last weeks controversy over Texas Senate Bill 5, National Journal released a poll which found that by a 48-44 margin, Americans favor banning abortion after 20 weeks of gestation.
The survey results were not particularly surprising. A substantial body of polling data indicates that Americans are more likely to support, rather than oppose, incremental pro-life legislation. However, what is more interesting is the demographic breakdown. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
Christians are known for their charitable giving. Yet the very charities many have supported are aligned with Planned Parenthood in forcing the people who support their work to pay for things that directly contradict their faith.
Conservatives have been celebrating the delay in implementation of the employer mandate in Obamacare since news broke, but that good news has no impact on the controversial birth control mandate.
After state officials temporarily closed a filthy abortion clinic earlier this year, state legislators in the North Carolina Senate today approved a bill that would hold abortion facilities to stricter limits. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/

Opposing assisted suicide/euthanasia should be a top liberal agenda item. (For example, see Robert P. Jones, Nat Hentoff, Dr. Rex Green, and most disability rights activistssuch as Diane Coleman.) Indeed, that was certainly the cut of my jib when I first got involved in the issue. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/
