Leadership and education. Two things not seen in abundance from the Church's clergy today. When Catholics don't know or understand the Church's teaching on matters such as contraception, abortion, the sanctity of marriage, or euthanasia, lack of education is to blame. While Catholics do have a responsibility to educate themselves, it is also the responsibility of priests and bishops each Sunday – and throughout the week – to teach. Circumstances are dire, and souls are at stake. If we continue down this path, we risk losing the salvation Christ shed His precious blood to give us.
