Nancy Pelosi Wants to Protect Kids in Syria, But Not Unborn Children From Abortion
As President Barack Obama and members of Congress debate what action, if any, to take in Syria, there is one class of children who aren’t making their way into the national debate: unborn children.

As LifeNews blogger Lauren Enriquez profiled last week, Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz exemplified how abortion advocates are concerned about children after birth but not before. At the same time she argues for keeping abortion legal without limits here in the United States, she bemoaned the killing of hundreds of young children by chemical attacks in Syria. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/09/09/nancy-pelosi-wants-to-protect-kids-in-syria-but-not-unborn-children-from-abortion/
NAACP President Quits, Turned Civil Rights Org Into Pro-Abortion Group
NAACP President Benjamin Jealous will be stepping down in a few months from his position as the head of the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights group. During his tenure, Jealous oversaw the NAACP’s transformation into an abortion advocacy organization.

The NAACP passed a 2004 resolution voicing support for “equal access to abortion” and urging its members to participate in a pro-abortion rally in Washington. Then, in 2007, the NAACP, for the second time in four years, blocked a proposed resolution expressing opposition to abortion. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/09/09/naacp-president-resigns-turned-civil-rights-org-into-pro-abortion-group/
Planned Parenthood’s Adoption “Gag Rule:” Abortion Pushed Over Adoption 391 to 1
Concerned about the prospect of taxpayer funded counselors steering women toward abortion, the Reagan Administration issued what its critics called a “gag rule,” prohibiting options counselors under Title X from referring women for abortions. Planned Parenthood and others challenged the rule, claiming that it prevented women from receiving full and unbiased information about all of their options.
Although the Supreme Court upheld it in Rust v. Sullivan, the “gag rule” was one of the first to be repealed when President Clinton took office. However, it appears that a “gag rule” has reemerged – as Planned Parenthood works to steer women toward the one option that is financially beneficial to Planned Parenthood, abortion.http://www.lifenews.com/2013/09/09/planned-parenthoods-adoption-gag-rule-abortion-pushed-over-adoption-391-to-1/
Pro-Life Group Warns: Obama Admin May Break the Law to Fund Abortions
Concern is growing that the Obama administration may break current federal law to pay for abortions for members of Congress and Congressional staff via Obamacare.

As LifeNews noted last week, some 86 members of Congress signed on to a letter to the director of the Office of Personnel Management expressing concerns that it will not comply with the Smith Amendment regarding Federal employee health plans that provide benefits or coverage for abortion. Under the amendment, which is existing law, federal funds may not be used to pay for abortions via federally-funded health insurance for congressional staff and Members. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/09/09/pro-life-group-warns-obama-admin-may-break-the-law-to-fund-abortions/
Finally... moral, pro-life fiction that opens hearts and minds! “This is what I was hoping would begin to spring from the Indie World. No way would NYC Corporate Publishing ever allow something with this worldview through.” - a reader.

Did You Know Abortion Clinics Are Closing Like Crazy?
At least 58 U.S. abortion clinics — almost 1 in 10 — have shut down or stopped providing the life-ending procedure since 2011.

The good news from Bloomberg.com: The reporting by Bloomberg, coupled with data from Guttmacher, which surveys provide every few years, show that clinics have closed at a record pace since 2011. During the past three years, an average of 19 closed each year. That’s more than double the rate in the decade ending in 2008. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/09/09/did-you-know-abortion-clinics-are-closing-like-crazy/
Anonymous Customer Pays for Bill of Family With Special Needs Child
Earlier this week, CNN reported that an anonymous customer at the Stag & Doe restaurant in China Grove, North Carolina, paid the bill of a family who was out to eat with their son, Riley England, who has special needs. The England family also brought younger son, Logan, and a grandparent and great-grandparent to dinner that night.
During dinner, the family experienced the challenging but typical behavior that Riley, who is non-verbal and suffers from epilepsy, exhibits. Riley was frustrated and hungry, and as a result he was acting out. Being non-verbal, his frustration often leads to screaming and fits. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/09/09/anonymous-customer-pays-for-bill-of-family-with-special-needs-child/

As a Survivor of Abortion, I Remember Abortion’s Victims Every Day
Next Saturday, September 14th, is the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children. As many people know, this day of remembrance is a coordination of efforts of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society (CPLS), (who you may remember me writing about this past June, when I participated in their memorial service outside of a newly closed abortion clinic in Michigan), Priests for Life, and the Pro-Life Action League.
As many of you also may know, this date of September 14th was chosen for this event because it marks the 25th anniversary of the burial of several hundred abortion victims in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. http://www.lifenews.com/2013/09/09/as-a-survivor-of-abortion-i-remember-abortions-victims-every-day/
