40 Days For Life: DAY 32: Youth = Pro-Life

It's no secret that our culture is in crisis.

Christians are losing on numerous fronts of the culture war...but there is good news: we're winning the battle to end abortion.

A big reason we're winning is that young people are increasingly pro-life. Ruth in Bangor, Maine said she is seeing incredible participation this campaign as volunteers fill nearly every hour of her vigil schedule.

"Our 10th fall campaign has been blessed with many new and committed volunteers..." she said. "...including these young men from the local Catholic university."

These students would make great candidates for the 4040 Scholarship.

For more details on how you--or a pro-life loved one enrolled in a U.S. college or university--can earn $4,040 toward tuition, visit:

Full-time graduate or undergraduate students who are involved in the pro-life movement are eligible to receive the scholarship.

The winner and a parent or guardian will be flown to San Francisco to receive the check on-stage at the Walk for Life West Coast.

Applications must be submitted at 40daysforlife.com/scholarship by December 15.

Washington, D.C.

Priests for Life National Director Fr. Frank Pavone and other pro-life leaders visited the nation's capital to speak at a recent 40 Days for Life rally.

"Members of Cardinals for Life at the Catholic University of America also came to pray a rosary and a Divine Mercy Chaplet," added local campaign leader, Dr. Michael New. "I would estimate that nearly 100 people were present at the Planned Parenthood facility."

Two days later, Dr. New hosted another rally, this one headlined by Americans United for Life President and CEO Catherine Glenn Foster.

"As a college student, she became pregnant and sought an abortion," Dr. New reported. "She wanted to leave [and] stated that if there had been one pro-life person in front of the abortion facility that day, she might not have gone through with the procedure."

Houston, Texas

What would lead young people to wake up and come pray in front of an abortion facility on a rainy Saturday morning?

"Young people know what's at stake," answered Theresa, the Houston 40 Days for Life leader.

Theresa said the "Celts for Life" and "Coogs for Life" united to pray in front of the largest abortion facility in the Western hemisphere.

"College is a time when young adults are learning to take on more responsibilities," Theresa said. "These students are great examples of prayer [and] passion."

The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it. She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne.

— Revelation 12:4-5 3

O God, from generation to generation, you have called your people to be the very aroma of life amidst a culture of death. Now it is our turn. Prepare me. Send me. Use me. I am eager to do my part. Stir your people everywhere to take up this great work.
