40 Days For Life: DAY 34: "We Decided to Keep the Baby"

We now have confirmed reports of 285 babies saved from abortion since February 22. And more reports are coming in every day!

Tennessee law protects unborn children, so a Volunteer State couple expecting their fifth child traveled to Illinois for an abortion.

Fortunately, they were met by a 40 Days for Life volunteer who had already taken a shift at the Downers Grove vigil--but felt called to return to the sidewalk for an extra hour of prayer.

"In that hour, God used her and others to help a couple decide to give life to their unborn child," announced Caron, who leads the Downers Grove campaign.

As the couple began their long journey home, the expectant mother texted vigil participants. "Thank you so much. You helped me. I needed that. I didn't go on with it. We decided to keep the baby."

With just one week to go, maybe you can save a life by praying for an extra hour. Sign up to pray at 40daysforlife.com/location.

That wasn't even the only family whose fifth child was spared in Downers Grove this spring!

Mom was ready to begin a career. Dad didn't want the abortion, but he didn't feel he had a say.

While the woman went into the abortion center, her husband joined 40 Days for Life participants in praying for the Holy Spirit to intervene.

Just then, the man's phone rang--it was his wife announcing that she changed her mind.

"The wife had a big smile on her face as they pulled out of the parking lot," Caron said. "Let's keep them in our prayers."

Guayaquil, Ecuador

A woman in Guayaquil became pregnant after she was raped.

40 Days for Life volunteers offered her pro-life alternatives to abortion, but she quit returning their calls.

With nothing left to do but pray, campaign team members prayed their hearts out for two weeks...

...and those prayers were answered, as the woman changed her mind and decided to have her baby!

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The Milwaukee 40 Days for Life team is holding its first vigil in front of Planned Parenthood because the abortion facility where they previously prayed went out of business!

Even though abortion is illegal in Wisconsin, Planned Parenthood is referring women across the Illinois state line. Dan, September, and their team are up for the challenge.

Milwaukee's faithful have saved six moms from abortion this campaign!

Zipaquirá, Colombia

A drug-addicted pregnant woman approached the Zipaquirá 40 Days for Life leader to ask for help because she is four months pregnant.

This sort of situation is exactly why abortion advocates claim abortion is necessary, but the local campaign leader knew the woman deserved more and fought for her.

"He contacted the local pregnancy help center, where the troubled mom got necessary support and daily monitoring for her situation," reported 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela. "The girl accepted the help--and her baby."

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

--John 1:1-3

O God, may we always be quick to call You Father. And when we call You Father, let Your Spirit remind us that we and all people, from their beginning to their last day, are Your children. We praise You, Father, that You sent Your Son to reveal to the world that all people are His brothers and sisters, that all people are Your children.
