40 Days For: DAY 32: Out of Business!

An abortion facility in Xola, Mexico City, Mexico, employs the son of a 40 Days for Life participant!

"His mother prays every day for him to leave that job," reported 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela.

If the man stays in the abortion industry, it will have to be at a different location, because...

...the Xola Mexfam abortion facility became the 147th abortion facility to close its doors and go out of business after a 40 Days for Life campaign!

Earlier this month, the center--which operated under International Planned Parenthood Federation--was to relocate, but it turns out it simply shut down!

The facility had been open for more than three decades.

Over the years, prayer warriors confirmed four babies saved from abortion.

"The 40 Days for Life campaign in front of that facility began in September 2017," said Norma, the local leader. "And after six years of 40 Days for Life vigils, to the glory of God, that place has shut down forever!"

The Ann Arbor 40 Days for Life campaign received a special visit from Dr. Donna Harrison, the director of research for the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

She addressed about 80 people at a university talk titled, "What Does the Word 'Abortion' Really Mean? A Medical Perspective." It's a topic that's surprisingly important right now.

The next day, she spoke at the 40 Days for Life vigil site for a rally and Jericho March.

"I thought the information that Dr. Harrison gave us in both her evening lecture and then at the Jericho March was fantastic," said Betsy, who attended both events. "I learned a lot that I didn’t know and am now aware of the 'language of abortion.'"

Recently, we shared the story of a security guard who approached vigil participants because she was concerned about an abortion-vulnerable relative.

We have an update--and it's a good one!

"The security guard from last week came to collect her paycheck," wrote Ellen. "We hugged and she said her [relative] decided to keep her baby! We praised God."

Ellen also asked the guard to let the team know if the family needs anything.

Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and dry them with the towel around his waist.

--John 13:5

God, stir up in us the desire to serve as you serve. Grant us the discernment to understand your will for our lives, to use our gifts for your glory, and to love our neighbor well. When we feel that our efforts are in vain, remind us that we do everything for your glory, not for our own fame or recognition. Amen.
