Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

Personhood in Action
In Pennsylvania, unborn children aren't children
A few weeks ago, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that a mother's illegal drug use during her pregnancy isn't child abuse under the state's child protection law because "victims of perpetrators must be children." This case is an important example of what happens when legal personhood does not protect the unborn, but is used to argue for a mother's right to inflict damage on her unborn child. In this case, the baby girl went through severe withdrawal and was abandoned in the hospital. The mother's attorney celebrated the decision, calling it "a victory for public health and the rights of women and children."
Survivor helps PRCs identify and respond to trafficking victims
Darlene Pawlik, a juvenile sex trafficking survivor, pro-life speaker, and the vice president of Save the 1, has just released a faith-based online course that helps pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) identify vulnerable or victimized clients, implement trauma-informed care, and provide resources that assist trafficked clients in finding freedom. Traffickers are hiding in plain sight in every community, in every state. This course equips PRC staff and volunteers to know what to look for and how to respond.
