II Encounter of “World Action Group of Parliament Members and Governors for Life and the Family”

Madrid (Agenzia Fides) – March 26-27, Madrid (Spain) will host the II Encounter of "World Action Group of Parliament Members and Governors for Life and the Family" ("Acción Mundial de Parlamentarios y Gobernantes por la Vida y la Familia"). The Organization Committee issued a message encouraging participation in the forum, "which hopes to be an opportunity for a meeting of legislators and governors from all over the world." The statement emphasized the need for large participation, as the contribution of all "not only enriches us with experiences and ideas, but also allows us to widen this network of collaboration that we have in the 'World Action Group of Parliament Members and Governors for Life and the Family.' We are convinced that all together, we can reach conclusions in unison, in response to the problems lived in our society."
This entity, presided by Argentinean Senator Liliana Negre de Alonso, is a movement of legislators and governors from various countries who have decided to work in defense of human life and the family, in their political posts. Its objective is "seek respect for and protection of life from conception until natural death, as well as promote policies that support the family, as the guarantee for the growth and stability of our society."
The opening session of the encounter will be led by Senator Alonso and the Vice-President of the entity, Spanish Parliament member Angel Pintado Barbanoj. There will be four work-sessions to follow. The first session will include an explanation of the work-plan and the objectives for the future of the group. "In defense of human life" will be the central theme of the second session, where a report on the family in Europe will be presented and themes like "the mothers' network," "human life on the crossroads," "right to life update from Mexico" and more, will also be addressed. In addition, a panel will be held with political leaders from across the world. The third session will be dedicated to the various different "Experiences and initiatives" that will be summed up in a report on the situation, by representatives from each of the countries represented. In the fourth session, there will be "proposals for action" (conclusions, recommendations, objectives, organization, and strategies for action).
