Gallup: Percentage of Pro-Abortion Americans Drops to Record Low
A new Gallup survey out today finds the percentage of Americans who identify them selves as supporting legalized abortion has dropped to a record low.

The 41% of Americans who now identify themselves as pro-choice is down from 47% last July and is one percentage point below the previous record low in Gallup trends, recorded in May 2009, the polling firm noted. On the other hand, 51 percent of Americans call themselves pro-life, one percentage point away from the record high.

The percentage of Americans identifying themselves as pro-life has trended higher since 1995, when the partial-birth abortion debate began in earnest and ultrasound technology made it so pictures of unborn children were the first baby pictures most parents saw. Gallup has found the pro-life position significantly ahead on two occasions, once in May 2009 and again today and the number of pro-abortion Americans has steadily dropped. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/gallup-percentage-of-pro-abortion-americans-drops-to-record-low/

Second Catholic College Drops Health Care Over HHS Mandate
A second Catholic college has dropped health care coverage for students because of the Obama HHS mandate requiring it to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs.

From its founding, Ave Maria University has required students to have health insurance and made an inexpensive group policy available to them. The University does not subsidize this plan and the entire cost is borne by those students purchasing the health insurance.

Most students are covered under the plans of their parents, but approximately 15% of Ave Maria s students currently are covered by this policy. It specifically excludes benefits for elective abortion, sterilization, and other morally objectionable services because the University is Catholic and follows the teachings of the Catholic Church. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/second-catholic-college-drops-health-care-over-hhs-mandate/

Moans, Screams Heard From Botched Abortion Victim in 911 Call
A botched abortion patient can be heard moaning in obvious distress during newly-obtained recordings of two 911 calls placed on Saturday, March 31, 2012. The calls originated from Abortion and Contraceptive Clinic of Nebraska, run by LeRoy Carhart in Bellevue, a suburb of Omaha.

The recordings and witness statements indicate that Carhart may be breaking the Nebraska ban on late-term abortions after 20 weeks. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/moans-screams-heard-from-botched-abortion-victim-in-911-call/

Democratic PR Firm Won $20M Bid to Promote Obamacare
Updated information is coming in on the Obama administration s $20 million deal to employ a public relations firm to promote Obamacare, which funds abortions and prompts rationing concerns, during the election season.

As LifeNews reported, the Health and Human Services Department signed a $20 million contract with a public-relations firm to promote Obamacare in a new multimedia ad campaign designed to educate the public about its supposed benefits. The ad campaign was a mandate included in the final health care law. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/democratic-pr-firm-won-20m-bid-to-promote-obamacare/

Doctors Feed Aborted Girls to Dogs to Hide Sex-Selection Abortions
In a news story that sounds like it is more out of a bad science fiction movie than reality, a newspaper in India reports doctors in one city are so desperate to hide evidence that they are doing sex-selection abortions that they are feeding the remains of aborted girl babies to dogs.

Sme physicians in the city of Beed, India are engaging in the practice, according to India Today, which spoke with Varsha Deshpande of Lek Ladki Abhiyan, an NGO working against the practice. Maharashtra s Public Health Minister Suresh Shetty also admitted to the newspaper that he had heard of reports of the practice taking place. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/doctors-feed-aborted-girls-to-dogs-to-hide-sex-selection-abortions/

American Airlines Rejects Passenger for Pro-Abortion T-Shirt
Pro-abortion advocates are up in arms over a story claiming an abortion advocate was rejected from an American Airlines flight because she wore a graphic t-shirt with profanity and a pro-abortion message.

Jodi Jacobson, Editor in Chief of the often-discredited pro-abortion blog RH Reality Check, talks about attending a meeting in which she heard the story of a young woman supposedly at the center of the controversy. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/american-airlines-rejects-passenger-for-pro-abortion-t-shirt/

Hustler Runs Graphic Attack Against Pro-Life Woman Columnist

The softcore pornographic magazine Hustler is coming under heavy criticism today for running an offensive, graphic image portraying a conservative pro-life female columnist engaging in a sexual act because she dares oppose funding of the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

New York Daily News columnist S.E. Cupp is the subject a photoshopped attack image under the headline celebrity fantasy. Hustler condemns Cupp for opposing forcing taxpayers to finance America s largest abortion business with the tag What Would SE Cupp look like with a - in her mouth? http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/hustler-runs-graphic-attack-against-pro-life-woman-columnist/

Catholic Leaders Outraged Over Media Silence on HHS Mandate Lawsuits
ABC on Monday and Tuesday completely ignored 12 major lawsuits filed by Catholic groups over the Obama-imposed birth control mandate. NBC allowed a mere 20 seconds to the topic. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/catholic-leaders-outraged-over-media-silence-on-hhs-mandate-lawsuits/

Planned Parenthood Issues Tepid Statement Supporting Chen Guangcheng
Despite weeks of international furor surrounding the treatment of forced abortion opponent Chen Guangcheng by the Chinese government, the Planned Parenthood abortion business waited until Monday to make any comment about his situation. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/planned-parenthood-issues-tepid-statement-supporting-chen-guangcheng/

YWCA Continues Promoting Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz
The YWCA has long been on the bad list for pro-life advocates because of its promotion of abortion and relationships with Planned Parenthood, and new evidence from its own blog shows that hasn t changed. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/ywca-continues-promoting-planned-parenthood-abortion-biz/

Pro-Abortion Methodists Upset When Confronted With Pro-Life Truth
Abortion pictures are not pleasant to view, particularly on one s way to Sunday morning worship service at a pro-choice church. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/pro-abortion-methodists-upset-when-confronted-with-pro-life-truth/

Surrogate Pregnancy Should Not Become a Commercial Business
I don t believe in surrogacy. But if it is to be allowed, commercial surrogacy should be made against public policy just as we now do non vital, living organ donation. Alas, there is an ill-advised bill in the New Jersey Legislature to legalize commercial surrogacy. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/surrogate-pregnancy-should-not-become-a-commercial-business/

Supreme Court: No Social Security for IVF Kids Conceived After Parent Dies
The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that children conceived posthumously with IVF are not entitled to Social Security survivor benefits. In 1939, the Social Security Administration put in a provision that allowed dependent children to collect their parent s benefits as survivors. In 1939 they did not have a crazy fertility industry willing to make children en masse for any reason for anyone. So the 1939 definition of dependent child was open for interpretation in 2012. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/supreme-court-no-social-security-for-ivf-kids-after-parent-dies/

Second Wisconsin Abortion Business Stops Selling Abortion Drug
A second Wisconsin abortion business has stopped selling the abortion drug RU 486, following a new law that prohibits selling the dangerous RU 486 abortion drug via webcam and without an in-person consultation with a physician. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/second-wisconsin-abortion-business-stops-selling-abortion-drug/

Michael J. Fox Sees the Light on Embryonic Stem Cell Research
This is no surprise for those of us who were paying attention during the stem cell frenzy of the last decade. We remember the irony that in 2006, Michael J. Fox endorsed Claire McCaskill, Missouri Democratic candidate for United States Senate. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/michael-j-fox-sees-the-light-on-embryonic-stem-cell-research/

Missouri Lawmakers Reject Federal Abortion Drug Mandate
The Missouri General Assembly has given overwhelming approval to legislation opposing the Obama Administration s abortion drug mandate. The Legislature granted final passage to a bill sponsored by Senator John Lamping of Clayton which stands in opposition to the contraceptive edict issued by U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/23/missouri-lawmakers-reject-federal-abortion-drug-mandate/
