News from the Trenches: I’ll never see you again anyway

There are sidewalk counselors and prayer warriors from Helpers of God’s Precious Infants San Diego at three abortion mills every Saturday. Family Planning Associates on Miramar Road and Planned Parenthood at First and Grape Downtown are doing surgical abortions, and Planned Parenthood El Cajon is doing chemical abortions. Below is a report of the activity from Saturday, May 19.

Family Planning Associates, Miramar Road - Please pray for E., a 19-year-old mother who left Family Planning Associates today with her aunt and went to Culture of Life Family Services. Upon hearing about the record of the doctor at the abortion clinic both women agreed to follow one of the counselors to Culture of Life. E. is the mother of a six-month-old baby and was sure that she had to have an abortion. She was emotionless most of the morning and was given information about the effects of abortion,

She was able to see her 8-week-old baby on ultrasound. She was given loving care and attention and it seems her aunt was touched by the love at Culture of Life. Her aunt brought her 7-year-old daughter with her and the counselor stayed with this little girl in the waiting room. The little girl talked about Jesus and Mary and the counselor left her with many gifts, including miraculous medals, a rosary and a model of a 12-week-old baby. When E. left Culture of Life this little girl showed her the baby model. We pray that something was touched in E.’s heart today to choose life for her baby. They all gave the counselor a hug and thanked her. Please pray for E. this week that she discover the love of God and how this baby was brought into existence from God’s love.

Also at Family Planning, there were another three possible or apparent turn-arounds, One couple from Calexico that a sidewalk counselor spoke with drove away after the brief conversation with the counselor. Another couple that a counselor attempted to speak with, walked upstairs after ignoring the counselor, then came out a short while later and drove away. Two women drove in and a counselor tried to give information to the driver, but the women did not want to talk, and the passenger went upstairs while the driver left. However, within about 20 minutes that passenger came out and called her friend, who picked her up and they left.

Planned Parenthood El Cajon - The clinic was very busy today. The counselor counted about 16 cars going in for Planned Parenthood. There were eight prayer warriors there from 9:00-11:00 and a couple of new ones. More prayer warriors are needed from 11:00-1:00. Please join the effort if you can.

Planned Parenthood First and Grape - Two women in their twenties came up to the counselor and took the information, and were interested to hear more. The counselor explained about Culture of Life Family Services and that they were there to give options to women in crisis, to help them choose life for their unborn children, etc. They both went inside after that.

One of them came out later, and asked the guard about how to catch a bus, or the trolley, and then she walked over to the corner and stood there for a while. The counselor assumed that her friend was inside, and so he approached her and asked her if her friend was struggling with a decision, and she said actually it was her who was pregnant, and her friend had left already.

She was very open about her situation because she said "I will probably never see you again anyway, so it doesn't matter". She looked at the picture of the six-week pre-born baby, and said that she knows the right thing to do, but it would require sacrifice on her part. Her story was a very familiar one. She told me she knew she was responsible for her current situation.

She then asked the counselor why he was doing this, and he explained it by asking her, “How many people can say they had a part in saving the life of someone else?” He said “I know I am called to this work, to make a difference in the lives of others. I have kids of my own. I am trying to give back for all the blessings I have received in my life.”

Her friend showed up and she left, and the counselor told her to take her time with making this decision. There is no question that she is taking this decision seriously. So she needs our prayers.

About a half hour earlier, three women left, and one of them who had taken information on the way in said to the counselor, "God heard your prayers. I decided not to go through with it." She was holding a picture in her hand. It was the ultrasound.
