Reaching out to offer a virtual hug to women facing untimely pregnancies

I was scrolling through the list of abortion facilities on the Pennsylvania Department of Health website when I saw it. Where the week before the site listed 16 abortion centers, this week the number totaled 17. And I was once again moved to sadness.
Abortion totals rose a little more than two percent in 2019 in Pennsylvania, the latest year for which statistics are available. But this business of abortion is about more than statistics. With each uptick in abortion are a torrent of tears, an avalanche of despair. Behind each statistic is a mother left to grieve a child lost forever. CONTINUE READING

A Book Worthy of a Second Look: Subverted, Chapters 1 & 2

With so many books, so little time, few books tempt me into a second reading. However, our Winter Lit for Life book recommendation is one of them. The first time I read it, I eagerly gulped down page after page, trying to digest all the revelations. But Sue Ellen Browder’s Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s Movement merits a slow, deliberate re-read, one that allows us to ponder the true story of the feminist movement and the forces within and around it. One that challenges the prevailing cultural narrative. For that reason, we are reading two chapters a week and posting a blog that will include intriguing quotations. Pro-Life Rallies Show Determination
to Witness for Life
Bedford County Citizens Concerned for Human Life gathered over 100 people at the Bedford County Fairgrounds on January 29 to watch the live-stream of the March for Life in Washington D.C. The group then marched to the Bedford County Courthouse, where they heard remarks from State Representative Jesse Topper and Reverend Deken George, Senior Pastor of Pleasant Valley Bible Church. Pennsylvanians for Human Life, Northeast Region held a pro-life rally featuring Starr Rogers, author of “By God’s Grace Alone” along with several other special speakers on the anniversary of the Roe decision, January 22.
