Nancy Pelosi Will Receive Planned Parenthood’s Top Margaret Sanger Award Nancy Pelosi will receive the Margaret Sanger award — the top honor given out by the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America announced today that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will deliver remarks at the organization’s Annual Gala in Washington on march 27, where she will receive the award. Baby Born at 27 Weeks Via C-Section After Mother Declared Brain DeadWith so many expressing disgust over a Texas hospital maintaining a brain dead woman named Marlise Munoz because she was pregnant, I became aware of a remarkably similar case last year that had a much happier ending. (See You Tube imbed below.)
From the 11/13/13 Daily Mail story: A baby which was 15 weeks old when its mother was declared brain-dead was delivered by Caesarean section at 27 weeks, after doctors kept the mother alive on life support. The Hungarian doctors who delivered the baby in July believe the birth is one of only three such cases in the world… http://www.lifenews.com/2014/01/31/baby-born-at-27-weeks-via-c-section-after-mother-declared-brain-dead/
Abortion Activist Sandra Fluke “Strongly Considering” Run for CongressAbortion activists Sandra Fluke, best known for pushing the HHS mandate that forces religious groups to pay for birth control and abortion-causing drugs, is “strongly considering” a run for Congress.
From The Blaze: Sandra Fluke said she’s “strongly considering running” for Henry Waxman’s House seat after the longtime California Democrat announced he would retire from Congress this year. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/01/31/abortion-activist-sandra-fluke-strongly-considering-run-for-congress/
Police Had to Form Human Shield Around Pro-Lifers to Protect Them From Abortion Activists
This Saturday, we took some of our new student leaders into chaos.
After an exhausting week here in Washington, our team headed to San Francisco to distribute 5,000 I am the Pro-Life Generation signs and meet hundreds of our student leaders at the 70,000-person Walk for Life. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/01/31/police-had-to-form-human-shield-around-pro-lifers-to-protect-them-from-abortion-activists/

Planned Parenthood Billboard Near School Tells Kids: “Getting It On Is Free” A Planned Parenthood billboard near a school in Memphis, Tennessee is drawing heavy criticism from local parents, who are upset by the message it’s sending their kids.
The billboard has the message “Getting It On Is Free” and a picture of a condom — something residents of a south Memphis neighborhood don’t like. Deaf Seattle Seahawks Player Gives Super Bowl Tickets to Deaf TwinsEarlier this month, Duracell produced a commercial featuring the deaf Seattle Seahawks player, Derrick Coleman. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a must watch. And if you have seen it, watch it again. We filled you in on Coleman’s back-story when the Duracell ad was initially released:
The 23-year-old California native defied the odds by pursuing sports despite coaches who couldn’t communicate well with him, and people who picked on and didn’t understand him. Coleman completed incredible football careers in both high school and college (UCLA), but his first try at the NFL after college didn’t work out. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/01/31/deaf-seattle-seahawks-player-gives-super-bowl-tickets-to-deaf-twins/

I’ll talk to anyone. No, really. I chat up the other shoppers in line at the grocery store, then carry on a conversation with the cashier and the fella bagging the groceries. I’m Facebook friends with a couple I met on the four-hour bus ride home from last year’s March for Life. So it was this year.

You Are the Same Person Now as You Were in Your Mother’s Womb There has been some confusion on some of my articles as to what it means for humans to have an inherent nature as rational agents, so I’d like to take the time now to expound upon just what is meant by an inherent nature, as well as the concept of capacities and what they have to do with human personhood. http://www.lifenews.com/2014/01/31/you-are-the-same-person-now-as-you-were-in-your-mothers-womb/

A Florida man who became infamous for slipping his girlfriend an abortion-inducing drug was sentenced to nearly 14 years in prison on Monday, a move that required a fair amount of legal gymnastics and is spurring renewed efforts in Florida to pass legislation which will make it easier to punish the intentional harming of an unborn fetus. Smashing the spectrum of pre-born personhood denial

Having dissected both the facts and the reasoning behind pro-abortion writer Bob Seidensticker’s characterization of the pro-life movement as dominated by insensitive males, I’d like to take one last post to examine his central theory of pre-born life, the “spectrum argument.” Read more...
Sarah Silverman's Jesus doesn't understand biology By now you’ve probably heard that Sarah Silverman released an offensive video about being visited by “Jesus F***ing Christ.” Silverman is in a category that is hard to exactly call atheist, because if she really didn’t believe in God, she probably wouldn’t have such a problem with him. Anyway, in her video, she asks Jesus, “When does life begin?” His answer was totally Silverman-esque, but failed to take into account actual basic biology. Read more...

News from the trenches

Planned Parenthood, First and Grape streets, San Diego
First and Grape streets
First and Grape streets
The following comes from a Jan. 25 email.
Today had beautiful weather downtown, but unfortunately it was extremely busy for PP. We had four Prayer Warriors who offered prayers for the workers and customers.
A woman in her 60s walking her dog came up to me and told me that I should be ashamed of myself because this “was a woman’s right, because it was her body,” and I responded “it’s a woman’s right to kill her child?”  She walked off.
A black woman came up to PP with three cute boys in tow, the oldest of which I would say was maybe seven or eight years old.  I offered her information, and she said “That’s crazy!  I don’t believe in abortion!  He could be the President!” and I said “That’s true! You never know!”  If ever there was a common sense reason not to abort your child, she said it. Only God knows the future.  She was only there for a short time and then left.  Her car wouldn’t start, and one of the guards helped her with jumper cables to get her car started.  I told him I was proud of him for doing a good deed, and we both laughed.
Another woman came up, and I offered her information saying “Please give this to anyone you know who may be pregnant, that she may give her child a chance at life,” and she stopped and looked at the bookmark with the picture of the six-week ectopic pregnancy.  She said, “OK, I will, but this picture is too much.” I replied,  “But that is the reality.”  She took the information and walked in.  Not long after, she came out, and told me  “I didn’t do it.” I said, “So you changed your mind?” and she said, “Yes.”  Someone came by in a little bit and picked her up and she left.

From Judie Brown: Dear Friend of the Babies,

2012 ALL logo

Dear Friend of the Babies,

While we remember the unborn who have died through the scourge of abortion, we also gather each year in Washington, D.C. to renew our mission and remind each other that we are far from alone in this battle.

This year American Life League gave away over 1,200 bags filled with our popular pro-life t-shirts, buttons, stickers, DVDs and printed materials! We gave away over 30,000 items to March for Life attendees who will take the life-saving tools back to their cities and hometowns to spread the message of life!

Highlights this year included American Life League's very own Director of Defend the Faith, Michael Hichborn being awarded the Law of Life Achievement Award at the The Law of Life Summit which is organized annually by Ave Maria Law School.

ALL's Director of Outreach, Rey Flores, was invited by EWTN Spanish for an interview about our work in fighting against Planned Parenthood's sex-ed programs in schools across the country. We also had the chance to meet and chat again with many of our pro-life colleagues at the annual Rose Dinner and at the March for Life Convention.

ALL's Celebrate Life magazine editor Stephanie Hopping attended the Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco, CA on January 25 where she distributed hundreds of ALL pro-life signs and bumper stickers.

Thank you so much, my friend, for your prayers and support which helped us defend the babies in the media and allowed us to get our life- and soul-saving materials into the hands of thousands of dedicated pro-lifers from all 50 states and beyond. To help us replenish our materials, can you help us today with a generous gift? Our witness for Christ and for Our Lady of Life must continue full-speed, so do please pray and send a gift today. God Bless You!
Sincerely yours in the Lord Who IS Life,

Judie Brown, President
American Life League

Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) is exposing the radical corporate giving priorities of Southwest Airlines -- including Southwest's role as a major funder of the annual homosexual activist "Creating Change" conference put on by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF).
In 2013, new state laws tightening regulations on abortion clinics had an unexpected consequence: They spurred the growth of “abortion funds,” nonprofits dedicated to helping pregnant women pay for abortions.
There are pro-life picketers who choose to carry gruesome signs outside abortion clinics that show the bloody aftermath of abortion.
