How Did Your Congressional Representative Vote?
The so-called Women’s Health Protection Act,
which should be renamed the Abortion Without Limits Act, is
a disastrous bill which tragically passed the U.S. House of
Representatives recently. The bill would wipe out common sense
protections for preborn children and their mothers at both the state and
the federal level. It would mean an expansion of taxpayer funding of
abortion, an end to parental consent for abortion, and the demise of
laws which provide 24-hour waiting periods and informed consent for
abortion.
To find out how your Congressional representative voted on this dangerous measure, please click here. Meanwhile, it is vitally important to stop this bill in the U.S. Senate. To send a message to U.S. Senators Bob Casey and Pat Toomey to vote against the bill, please click here.

Shawn’s Law Passed and Signed
By Maria V. Gallagher, Legislative Director
A
bill known as Shawn’s Law passed its last legislative hurdle and has
now been signed by the Governor. The bill is named for a young woman who
died by suicide after being bullied into it by strangers in an online
chat forum. The legislation would enhance the penalties for anyone who
encourages an individual under age 18 or who has an intellectual
disability to die by suicide. As the bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Dawn
Keefer (R-Dillsburg) stated, “Shawn’s Law addresses a very serious issue
that is claiming the lives of our most vulnerable and impressionable
people. No one who is struggling with depression and other mental health
issues should be given step-by-step instructions to end his or her own
life and be encouraged to do so.” For more on Shawn’s Law, please click here .
