People who get their news from the mainstream media are often surprised to learn that most pro-lifers are women.

Bad men LOVE abortion.

But men are finally starting to catch up. According to the Gallup Poll, nearly half of all males now self-identify as pro-life.

On this week's episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast, we break down the encouraging data and the reasons why men are waking up to the harm abortion causes women, babies, and themselves:

On the episode, we cover:

  • The technological development that led to an unexpected pro-life surge among Gen Z men;

  • How Kamala Harris's decision to base her entire campaign on abortion backfired in ways that transcend November's election;

  • Women's response to men embracing the pro-life position;

  • More!

Birmingham, England

One of the big reasons men are becoming more pro-life is because they, too, suffer after losing children to abortion.

The Birmingham 40 Days for Life team held a campaign rally featuring Adam and Theo, who shared how they regret the loss of their own children to abortion. Adam even worked in a hospital-based abortion unit before his dramatic conversion.

"We had a huge turnout with standing room only," said Isabel, the longtime campaign leader. "And some great speeches on the grief of men over abortion and how this can be channeled into action."

Isabel and her team have helped bring healing not just to men, but also to women. "The campaign has been going well," she said. "We have encountered women impacted by abortion and managed to connect them with Rachel's Vineyard."

Thousand Oaks, California

Leonore was worried when a pair of teenage men approached her and asked about abortion. "What do you say about me getting my girlfriend pregnant?" the angrier of the two asked her.

"At first I thought they were mocking me and were going to hit me," Leonore said.

But it turns out the young man's question was sincere. And his anger was not directed toward Leonore. It was the manifestation of fear and shock about the news that he was now a father.

Leonore provided encouragement, advice on talking to the couple's parents, and information about resources to help the teen couple.

A week later, the young man returned to the vigil, smiled, hugged Leonore, and shared plans to get help at the local pregnancy center.

Zagreb, Croatia

Zagreb is one of two Croatian vigils that holds a 24-hour-a-day vigil--made possible by men who help cover the overnight hours.

In particular, every Wednesday "The Guard of St. Joseph" men gather to pray for an end to abortion.

When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son."

--John 19:26

Most loving God, please help the victims of abuse, trafficking, and broken relationships. Provide them with immediate and permanent safety from danger. In your loving arms, heal them from injuries--physical, psychological, and spiritual. Lead them to the best sources of support and healing. Bring comfort to all victims of abuse, and help children conceived in abusive situations to know they are loved by you. Amen.
