40 DAYS FOR LIFE: DAY 7: Fox News Coverage and Accountability

The abortion industry has gone without meaningful oversight for so long that it's grown increasingly brazen in hawking abortions by whatever means possible.

The latest shameful stunt comes from a New York-headquartered organization that has placed floating, boat-based billboards pushing abortion pills in Florida...without disclosing federally required safety protocols and other essential information.

The 40 Days for Life Institute of Law & Justice is holding the group accountable with a letter to Florida's attorney general, calling for an investigation...and potential prosecution.

Check out the Fox News coverage of our letter:

Peddling abortion pills to people simply trying to enjoy a day at the beach shows just how out of touch abortion advocates are in post-Roe America.

But 40 Days for Life is uniquely positioned to keep tabs on abortion industry malfeasance, because more than 1,000,000 grassroots prayer warriors like YOU are in position to see--and to shine a light on--the treachery.

Tune in to the Fox News coverage, and then check out our letter to Florida's attorney general:

Medellín, Colombia

God saved a baby from abortion in Medellín in the FIRST hour of the vigil!

An abortion-bound 19-year-old mother approached a 40 Days for Life participant to ask for directions to the abortion facility, not realizing the vigil volunteer was praying for an end to abortion.

She quickly figured it out!

The prayer warrior took the mom out for coffee, talked with her for hours, and...brought her to a pregnancy help center for a free ultrasound. The prayers and perseverance paid off, as the mom chose life for her baby!

"We thank God for this providential encounter," said 40 Days for Life director of Ibero-American campaigns Lourdes Varela. "Today we celebrate the start of the campaign with the joy of a life saved."

Puebla, San Manuel, Mexico

A young woman found herself pregnant and was uncertain about whether to keep her baby...or to abort.

The child's father saw abortion as an easy way out. Fortunately, the 40 Days for Life team provided the support and encouragement the woman didn't receive from her boyfriend.

"What touched her heart the most was discovering the different options to protect her baby and the support of a community that welcomes her and walks by her side," Lourdes explained.

"She bravely said 'yes' to life!" Lourdes continued. "Glory to God!"

While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

--Luke 2:6-7

Dear Jesus, you entered the world through the “yes” of your mother. Help us to say “yes” to the needs of those around us, especially the needs of expectant mothers. Open our hearts so that we might generously share your love with others, and help us to be a refuge for women and children seeking safety and care. Amen.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE: DAY 6: You Talking Scares Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is so afraid of people talking about its core product that it tries to deemphasize abortion as only 3% of its services.

But your peaceful witness starts a conversation that exposes abortion and transforms both individuals and entire communities.

When Rebecca sported her 40 Days for Life jacket out to the store, the clerk asked her what 40 Days for Life means. "For a split second I paused, discerning what the reaction might be," she said.

Rebecca's answer elicited a series of questions from the clerk--including how Rebecca would respond to a woman who had an abortion.

"I saw tears welling up in her eyes," Rebecca recalled. "I quietly asked if she'd had an abortion, and she nodded. I took her hands in mine, looked her in the eyes and told her that God loves her, and there is healing available."

The more people talk about abortion, the more they learn about abortion...and the more people learn about abortion, the more they REJECT abortion.

"So thank you for the 40 Days for Life gear that we can wear in our communities," Rebecca continued. "It gives us an opportunity to be open to a conversation no matter where we are."

Planned Parenthood loves to set up shop in a university town.

When an abortion provider reels in a college age-customer, it can sell that young adult abortions, birth control, and even transgender services for decades.

So our director of medical affairs and education and former abortion provider Dr. Haywood Robinson recently went to the Hoosier State to headline a 40 Days for Life rally just miles away from Purdue University.

"There was a diverse group of attendees, including three students from Purdue and five nuns," Haywood said. "One of the students spoke, encouraging seasoned pro-lifers to engage early with young people and to speak truth about abortion and the sanctity of human life."

Students like this are EXACTLY why a 40 Days for Life donor funds the 4040 Scholarship, which honors a college student making an impact for life on campus.

For more information--or to apply for the 4040 Scholarship--visit:

The winner will receive a $4,040 college scholarship PLUS a trip (with a parent) to receive the award on stage at the Walk for Life West Coast in January.

St. Johnsbury, Vermont

The St. Johnsbury Planned Parenthood went out of business in deep-blue Vermont earlier this year after just ONE 40 Days for Life vigil.

But the fact that the facility has been closed for months didn't make it any less exciting when a "for sale" sign recently appeared on Planned Parenthood's property!

If God can close an abortion business in Vermont, there's no reason he won't close one where you live. Sign up to pray by visiting 40daysforlife.com/locations.

All who heard these things took them to heart, saying, "What, then, will this child be?" For surely the hand of the Lord was with him.

--Luke 1:66

Lord, instill confidence and hope in every child. Help all children to grow up to see the purpose for which you made them. Give parents the wisdom and understanding to see the needs of each child and to nurture each child’s talents for your glory alone.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE: DAY 5: The 55-Year Secret

Well-intentioned Christians sometimes avoid discussing abortion to avoid the appearance of judging those who've experienced it.

In reality, it's silence that makes post-abortive women and men feel condemned, because silence suggests abortion is a sin so unforgivable that it becomes literally unspeakable.

Prayer warriors at the joint kickoff event for the Palmdale and Lancaster, California, campaigns witnessed the power of speaking up when a passerby out walking his dog stumbled upon the rally, joined it, and--for the FIRST time--shared his testimony of losing a child to abortion back in 1970.

"He described himself as a college student who embraced paganism," said campaign director Steve Karlen, who spoke at the rally. "But the pain the abortion caused led him to Christ. On the 40th anniversary of that abortion, he had a vision of his son and felt forgiveness."

By breaking the secrecy surrounding the loss of his child, the man is inspiring 40 Days for Life volunteers to make sacrifices that will spare women and men the pain of abortion.

Other participants shared stories of close calls.

Jessica explained how a friend had come for an abortion...until her GPS got her lost. She interpreted the mix-up as a sign and approached Jessica for help choosing life.

Another woman took photos of the event to share with her adult daughter. The woman was an immigrant and pressured by her child's father to abort that daughter...

...but she refused, even though the man abandoned her because she chose life.

As we prepare to start a new week, help save a life by finding your local vigil and signing up to pray:

Lawndale, California

The next day, Steve visited and spoke at the Lawndale 40 Days for Life campaign kickoff rally and participated in a "life forum" question-and-answer session alongside philosopher and award-winning author Dr. Chris Kaczor, who serves on the Pontifical Academy for Life.

Laura, the Lawndale campaign leader, also brought together representatives from eight pro-life and Christian organizations that support abortion-vulnerable moms or provide prayer support.

"It was a community-wide effort," Steve said. "Laura leads her campaign with professionalism and--more importantly--a heart filled with love for the Lord and for abortion-vulnerable moms and babies."

Oxford, England

At 26, Amrita found herself pregnant, living in a cramped room, and without a career.

"Even though her child's father was willing to support her, she was so overwhelmed, she felt abortion was her only option," 40 Days for Life director of international campaigns Robert Colquhoun explained.

After taking the first abortion pill, Amrita was immediately overcome with regret. The abortion facility dismissively told her that regret was "normal."

Thanks be to God, Amrita found information on Abortion Pill Reversal. Despite initial bleeding, the treatment succeeded, and she gave birth to a healthy daughter.

Amrita addressed the Oxford 40 Days for Life kickoff event, speaking candidly about how her brush with abortion changed her outlook on the issue.

Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her.

--Luke 1:58

Dear Lord, thank you for the gift of friendship. Teach us to see your beauty in those around us, and give us the grace to serve our friends and neighbors. We ask you to especially bless the families and friends of expectant mothers. Help those who are close to expectant mothers to offer the compassionate care that Elizabeth’s friends did throughout her pregnancy. Help us never to close our eyes to women in need. Amen.
