Wichita, Kansas
While most Americans probably think of Kansas as a pro-life state, it voted against protecting life in its constitution shortly after the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Abortion
advocates warned that legal protections for unborn babies would lead
women to seek out dangerous, illegal, back-alley abortions.
"But the entrance to the legal abortion facility is LITERALLY in the back alley," reported 40 Days for Life director of 40DFL365 and campaign development Heather Gardner.
That
means sidewalk counselors are allowed to stand right next to Planned
Parenthood's entrance...and they have great access to offer
abortion-bound moms pro-life alternatives to abortion.
Unsurprisingly,
the Wichita Planned Parenthood is in the heart of a predominantly black
neighborhood--but Sue, the campaign leader, said she rarely witnesses
black women entering the abortion facility.
Instead, the
neighbors tend to give vigil participants the thumbs-up sign. "It’s
like they are aware of the racist roots of Planned Parenthood!" Sue said.
"I
am truly impressed with the efforts in Wichita," Heather added. "Sue is
a FANTASTIC leader, and she's got some great people on her team."
