Bristol, Virginia
When the overturning of Roe v. Wade
allowed the Volunteer State to protect unborn babies under the law, the
Bristol, Tennessee, abortion facility moved across the state border to
Bristol, Virginia.
40 Days for Life volunteers have risen to the challenge, and vigil participation has steadily increased since the relocation.
"Although
we are praying for Bristol Women's Health to close, the growing prayer
team in Bristol gives me hope that we can soon be a 40 Days for Life 365
city," said Angie, the local campaign leader.
The pastors of several area churches regularly show up to pray--and advertise when they'll be present so that their congregations can join them. Additionally, four different Knights of Columbus councils are covering shifts at the vigil.
"This
means more large prayer gathering opportunities, which is making it
easier for new people to join the vigil," Angie observed.
