When we say your prayers save lives at the last moment, we're not exaggerating. A
woman in Downers Grove, Illinois, was on the operating table with her
feet in the stirrups when she changed her mind and walked out!
Earlier
that day, a sidewalk counselor handed pro-life literature to the
woman's Uber driver. When the mama walked out of the abortion
appointment 90 minutes later, pro-lifers got to speak with her directly.
"This was a horrible experience," the expectant mother explained. "They were pressuring me to have the abortion. They said that they could give me numbing medication."
Finally,
the woman took matters into her own hands. "No, I do not want to go
through with this abortion," she told them. "I took the stirrups off my
feet and I walked out," she added.

The mom was still shaken up as she waited for a ride. Sidewalk counselors comforted her, bought her dinner, and hugged her.
"PLEASE
PRAY for her and her family, friends, and support system in the days
ahead," Downers Grove leader Terry exhorted the campaign volunteers.
"She is going to need a lot of encouragement during her pregnancy.
However, she is a very courageous woman!"
The good news kept coming in quick succession, as Terry's team helped save TWO MORE BABIES that week!

Cincinnati, Ohio
Pro-lifers in the Buckeye State were devastated last fall when voters amended the state constitution to protect abortion.
"But in the midst of the darkness, yesterday there was light," said longtime Cincinnati leader Mary.
Sidewalk
counselors engaged a teen couple headed into Planned Parenthood and
helped dissuade the girl from entering the abortion facility. Instead,
she agreed to get an ultrasound at the local pregnancy help center.
"As
is often the case, the young mom and dad do not see eye to eye about
the baby," Mary explained. "It's a familiar story of an
abortion-vulnerable woman thinking that it would make things better with
her boyfriend if she didn't have the baby, but she never wanted to abort the child."

Salta, Argentina
An
expectant mother's husband suffered a terrible accident and was in
danger of paralysis. When the mom herself fell ill and wound up
hospitalized, she admitted to the hospital chaplain that she was
struggling...and considering abortion.
That
chaplain had seen the 40 Days for Life vigil taking place in front of
the hospital, so he asked campaign participants for help.
With the support of the chaplain, the 40 Days for Life team, and a pregnancy help center, the woman found relief and chose life for her baby!

teach us how to suffer alongside you. Grant us the joy of your company
under the wood of the cross. Grant us the strength of Simon to help you
on your way. We unite every tired step and discouraging defeat to your
