40 Days For Life: DAY 37: Breaking Down IVF

The Alabama Supreme Court recently ruled that the state's Wrongful Death of a Minor Act doesn't just apply to children who've been born or who live in the womb.

The court determined that the law also protects children frozen in laboratories at in vitro fertilization (IVF) clinics as well.

IVF is a touchy subject. All children conceived through this process have dignity--but the process to unnaturally create human life is dangerous.

Unfortunately, Alabama's legislature has since passed a law defending IVF.

On this week's episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast, we provide the pro-life perspective on IVF:

On this episode, we also cover:

  • Why IVF isn't pro-life--even if it does bring more children into the world;

  • Shocking estimates on the number of embryonic humans who live in lab freezers;

  • How most babies conceived through assisted reproductive technologies lose their lives during the IVF process;

  • Much more!

For an even deeper dive into the many moral problems of artificial reproduction, check out this podcast episode from the archives:

Lynnwood, Washington

When Rebecca's team learned that a woman was scheduled for an abortion appointment due to pressure from her boyfriend, her team put out a call for extra volunteers to stand vigil.

Area pro-lifers turned out, but they never encountered the woman, who never showed up...

...because her boyfriend had a change of heart and urged her to cancel the abortion! So she did!

"Today was a beautiful example of being able to rally people to the sidewalk," Rebecca noted. "It's a blessing to see how our community of life supporters is growing to a point where I can put out a call for specific help and it is answered abundantly."

Napa, California

A little rain couldn't deter 40 Days for Life participants from holding a prayerful procession.

The march to Planned Parenthood united the Christian community. "Men, women, mothers and fathers with babies in strollers, young children, elderly [people], Protestants, and Catholics all processed," reported Christine from the Napa campaign's leadership team.

About 100 prayer warriors spanning a number of blocks waved 40 Days for Life signs during the two-mile journey.

"Many lingered to spend more time in front of Planned Parenthood in prayer," Christine added. "This vigil is blessed with dedicated pro-lifers."

Chiclayo, Peru

When a young expectant mother's family refused to support her in welcoming her baby, the woman turned to her church for help...

...but church members weren't able to calm her anxieties. So they called in a local 40 Days for Life volunteer to assist. And it worked!

The young woman's fears have been addressed, and she now plans to welcome her baby.

Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.

--Luke 23:42

God, we ask that those who have participated in abortion will know that your mercy does not expire. Help us to forgive as you do so that others might come to understand the dignity of every human life, including their own. Convert the hearts of abortionists. May they experience your forgiveness as so many others have. Amen.
