One year in prison and $2000 fine part of proposed Oakland “bubble law” designed to silence pro-lifers

"They are going to take away our rights and possibly imprison us"

EDITOR'S NOTE: California Catholic Daily today begins a three-part series about attempts by pro-abortion extremists to silence pro-lifers, and the abuse suffered by sidewalk counselors at the hands of abortion clinic "escorts." This is Part I.

The Oakland City Council is scheduled to vote Nov. 6 on a measure – considered likely to pass – that would force sidewalk counselors to stay eight feet away from all clients entering or leaving abortion clinics within a 100-foot radius of the property. Violators could face a $2,000 fine and one year's imprisonment.
