From CMMB: A Baby Saved

Meet baby Esther. She's been fighting for her life since before she was born.

The odds were stacked against her. Esther's mother, Fatima, was just eight months pregnant when a bacterial infection, complicated by malaria, triggered early labor.

By the time Fatima got to the hospital there was nothing they could do to stop the labor. Baby Esther was born weighing less than 5 pounds, and both she and her mother had very high fevers. Everything about the situation should have meant certain death for both Fatima and baby Esther.
"I'm not sure if the mother or the baby would have made it if they didn't get antibiotics." —Sarah Rubino, nurse volunteer in South Sudan
It's thanks to generous friends like you, and the efforts of so many, that these antibiotics were available. It's the reason Fatima and Esther are alive today.

Your gift saves lives.

In places like South Sudan, where Esther was born, a lack of access to medicine and treatment means the difference between life and death for so many. Your gift ensures that health facilities in the most remote and challenging places have what they need to care for the most vulnerable.
