Roanoke, Virginia
Rose was tempted to sleep in and skip her scheduled shift at the Roanoke 40 Days for Life vigil. She had been out praying the previous day--and hecklers cursed at her and wished her harm.
"I just felt like this isn't doing any good," Rose said. "I'm not one of the participants who sees people turn around and leave. I felt it makes no impact whether I'm there or not." Plus, it was raining.
But Rose battled through the temptation--and is glad she did!
A passerby saw her and joined the vigil. Shortly thereafter, another stopped by. "He said his wife went for an ultrasound and found no heartbeat," Rose reported. "At a second ultrasound appointment, the doctor tried to sedate her and give her a D&C without her consent."
The man insisted doctors do a second ultrasound--in which they found a heartbeat! His baby girl is now 22 years old.
