PA House Panel Explores Abortion &
Life-Affirming Alternatives
The Health Committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives last week held a hearing focusing on abortion providers and pregnancy resource centers. Dr. Sarah Gutman, who performs abortions up to 23 weeks, 6 days gestation, conceded that “as we remove the pregnancy, it does come out in parts,” a reference to the body parts of the preborn baby. (In a dismemberment abortion, babies are torn limb by limb from their mothers’ wombs.)
Rep. Brad Roae asked Planned Parenthood Keystone CEO Melissa Reed how abortion can be considered safe, given the fact that it ends with the death of a baby. When asked how abortions are performed, the Planned Parenthood executive did not provide a specific answer.
Meanwhile, Amy Scheuring of the pro-life Women’s Care Network said that “80 percent of women who view (an) ultrasound…choose life” for their children. To view the entire three hour hearing, go HERE and click on the Health Committee Hearing for April 21st, entitled Fetal Dignity Bill Discussion.

PA Teen Advocates for Protection of
Children With Down Syndrome
Seventeen-year-old Chloe Kondrich of Pittsburgh was among the testifiers at a recent hearing at the state Capitol on Down syndrome. Chloe has spoken at the United Nations twice, has had her photo displayed on the Big Screen in Times Square five times, and was among the winners of the PA Pro-Life Leadership Award. “Please support and pass the Down Syndrome Protection Act because the world needs more people like me. Embrace, don’t erase, Down syndrome,” Kondrich told lawmakers. Kondrich is advocating for legislation that would ensure that preborn babies diagnosed with Down syndrome in PA are protected from abortion. Micah Parsons plays his linebacker position for Penn State well. Extremely well. But a young man who will likely be among the top ten players chosen in next week’s NFL draft was almost denied the chance.
